Journey To The Muse Join Eleanore MacDonald and a small group of independent travelers on a journey to Athens and into the magic of the islands of the Northern Sporades.

The 2017 trip is expected to leave in early May, or mid September, if there is interest. This is a lovingly handcrafted exploration of modern and ancient Athens, a side trip to Delphi and on to Meteora and finally to the island of Skiathos in the Sporades, a chain of islands close to the mainland in the NW Aegean. Eleanore will be 'midwife' for this journey, the choreographer, guide ... scouting f

or the best airfare, arranging accommodations to each person's individual taste. Classical Athens, Museums, Music ... hiking, painting, writing, photography ... reading ... great food ... a rich culture ... sitting on a quiet beach by the calm sea day after day and letting it all go. There is something for everyone here, and no better way to experience it - next to on ones own - than with a true friend of Greece and one who has been traveling there since 1986. Email Eleanore for more information if you are interested in this beautiful journey.

Update on our fundraiser! The link to the GoFundMe is in comments.

Hey everyone!
Thank you so much for your generous donations! We are blessed to have such a generous community, one which supports independent musicians. Now we are headed into Tom Menig’s Silver Maple Studio, ready to add players and mix our tracks for Djuna’s Lullaby, and we so looking forward to the magic this phase manifests! As with every recording we’ve done, though all are infused with “us-ness”, the album will emerge as a wholly new being reflective of our lives during that gestational period when the songs come to Paul and we go through our partnership process. We are confident that this one tells the story of who we are now - having worked together in music for 41 years, trying always to find love and peace in the notes and words while our world is at war with itself, bringing what light we can to these times.
We hope you will resonate with it!
Please, share our GoFundMe with any of your friends who may also want to see independent music thrive - we are moving right along with your donations but are still far from our goal.
Grateful thanks to you all. With much love.
Eleanore and Paul

Any of you who have shown interest in a 2023 September trip to Greece: please let me know if you’re still interested.
Please private message me or send an email to eleanoremacdonald @ gmail. Com to let me know if
1) is the 2nd or 3rd week of September best yet for you? The trip in total would be 16-18 days, including travel. But I can arrange for you to stay longer.
2) are you willing to share a room? Prices have gotten pretty high.
3) what type of accommodation on the island(s) we visit are you interested in?
4) are you willing to stay with the (small) group in an Athens hotel of my choosing?
5) what do you want from your experience of this journey?
6) what questions do you have about this journey?
7) what are you willing to spend on your accommodations per day, and what would you like to see your budget be kept to per day?
8)Are you comfortable with tackling hills, lots of up and down on marble steps, walking on cobbled lanes?
Once I get a firm and committed 7 or 8 folks I will start working further in this. Most of you know what a Journey to the Muse is, most specifically that it is a relaxed, non guided journey, I am NOT A TRAVEL AGENT but will arrange everything, be the “midwife” for your trip, and will be there with you as your liaison all along the way.
In a nutshell we will visit Athens, a visit to Delphi or Meteora can be arranged, and the rest of our time will be spent on one of or all of the N. Sporades islands (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos)
I can send you a link to a blog piece that I wrote about each of the N. Sporades islands.
Greece is no longer a cheap destination. The dollar, however, right now is very strong, essentially $1 to the €1 (euro). Airfare is high. These are things to take into consideration.
So once I get some commitments and your answers, I’ll send out the possible itinerary, info about domestic travel (ferry, flights) within Greece and the accommodations I have found to be available.
