Center of Sustainable Transport and Development

Sustainable Transport is considered to be the best approach to tackle with existing environmental problems, it is sometimes known as Green Transport. Main objective of sustainability is to use the resources efficiently and environmental effects of transport should be considered when public or private decisions are made that determine future development. Therefore it is required to focus on sustainable transport practices which make use of energy sources that are sustainable and clean.
Center of Sustainable Transport and Development (CSTD) is a part of Pasaar, which utilize best practices of sustainable transportation. Pasaar is very committed to make development studies with accordance to sustainability standards.
Center of Sustainable Transport and Development (CSTD) mainly provides research, feasibility study and consultation services. CSTD had completed some major and successful projects, such as Feasibility Study of Kabul Bus Rapid Transit System and Feasibility Study for Establishing an Airline in Kabul, the Kabul Air.

Building a smart public transportation system is a key prerequisite for transforming Kabul into a city where one could enjoy to live, work and study. Traditional bus transport and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems are the most favorable modes of public transport in Kabul. Each typical single-unit bus can decrease up to nearly 60 vehicles. Based on a feasibility study of Pasaar, an efficient BRT system can reduce up to 54% percent of the existing passenger cars which in turn can reduce the congestion, traffic accidents and air pollution tremendously while saving money for the Kabul residents.

Pasaar has partnered with Afghanistan Builders Association in receiving the authority to certify the construction material testing in Afghanistan. This authority was handed over to us by the US Army Corps of Engineers through an official ceremony with the presence of the Media, representative of President of Afghanistan, H.E. Hameedullah Farooqi, and other governmental officials.

Pasaar provided a study tour of China for delegates of ten construction companies and two consultants of Department of Commerce of United States. The delegates were provided with a booth at the International Building Trade show in Shanghai and the opportunity to interact with many stakeholders. They also went to four different site visits of Chinese companies including the Chinese Building Material Federations. The purpose of the trade show was to promote business among Afghan and Chinese companies.
