Sakura are in full bloom now. Here are my top picks of places to go to enjoy taking pictures of sakura.

👉🏻 Sophia University cherry blossom walk. (Definitely not on the to-go list for a regular tourist, but the locals and students love this place.)

👉🏻 Shinjuku Gyoen National Park. (Tokyo has so many wonderful parks and this is one of THE best ones. It’s so huge that even though there are always tons of tourists here, you never feel it crowded.)

👉🏻 Ondagawa River Walk. (Even many Japanese tourists don’t know about this place. It’s only popular with the Tokyo locals. This place is basically a hidden gem, but probably not for long.)

👉🏻 Oookagawa River Walk. (Another place that’s only really popular with the locals. The video I posted was on a cruise down the river. You can enjoy seeing sakura from the water! How cool is that?)

👉🏻 Egawa Seseragi Ryokudo. (This place is not for your regular tourist as it takes a bit of busing and walking, but the view is totally worth it. Just imagine a combination of sakura, tulips and pristine water. I’m sure the road to heaven looks something like this.)

This past weekend, we at Thoa’s Japan Tours went on a romantic sakura viewing tour around Tokyo. We wanted to check out these hanami places in hopes of showing them to our potential clients next year. . Our first stop is Inokashira Koen in Kichijoji, one of the most popular neighborhoods to live in Tokyo. There’s a huge pond in the middle of the park and we rented a rowboat and rowed right next to the sakura tree branches. There’s a zoo, a shrine, and the Ghibli Museum inside the park as well but we didn’t make it there this time. . For lunch, we went to a nearby Vietnamese restaurant because we love Vietnamese food here at Thoa’s Japan Tours. . After lunch, we headed towards the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Shinagawa. Boy was this place a treat! If you want a romantic, bougie coffee date, take your date to the garden at this hotel and have some desserts and coffee in the cafe right next to the garden. Let us warn you though, they have a table charge of 1000 yen per person during hanami season. The drinks and cake we had all tasted amazing.
