’Twas the night before vacation, and all through the house,
Not a creature was resting, not even my spouse.
The suitcases stood by the doorway with care,
In hopes that tomorrow we’d soon be elsewhere.

The children were nestled, but not yet asleep,
Excitement too high, their giggles would leap.
And I with my checklist, and laundry to fold,
Felt both the exhaustion and thrill taking hold.

When out in the driveway there rose such a clatter,
I sprang to the window to see what’s the matter.
Away to the porch light, I flew like a flash,
Realizing—groceries! One last-minute dash.

The floors weren’t spotless, the counters not gleaming,
But good enough counts when of vacation I’m dreaming.
With errands now done and the packing complete,
The to-do list surrendered in final defeat.

At last, we collapsed, our work finally through,
Dreaming of beaches or mountains in view.
And as I dozed off with bags packed by my bed,
Visions of paradise danced in my head.

So here’s to the chaos before sweet escape,
When life’s daily bustle gets one final shape.
Tomorrow, adventure! Tonight, sweet delight-
Happy travels to all, and to all a good night!

You often hear (or read) me saying that when you book with a travel advisor instead of Expedia, booking. com, or Costco, or booking directly online etc., you are getting personalized service. You are getting help when a problem arises, you are supporting local business.

That isn’t all, it doesn’t even scratch the surface. I want you to know the impact you have on my family. You are not lining the pockets of a major corporation, you are changing local lives.

Your business allows me an outlet. Most of you know I am a full-time nurse practitioner. I love my job and my patients, but healthcare burnout is very real, and planning your amazing vacations is my outlet and creative release, to allow me to continue to provide quality care to my patients. Truly.

Mexico is a beautiful country with many places that are great to visit. However, the country is becoming more strict on an existing rule.

If a person traveling into the country has more than one computing device (laptop, iPad, etc.), you will have to pay tax/duty on one of the items. Although, you may only be using it for work or your personal leisure, they assume you could sell it. It is best to spread the devices amongst your travel party to avoid this tax.

Also, for you smokers out there, you are only allowed to bring 10 packs of ci******es into the country. There is a duty free store at the airport, however, if you stop there to buy a carton, and also bring your own, you could pay a hefty fine. Be mindful!
