Experience Culture Travel is a travel agency that seeks to provide personalized travel services that allow our customers to experience new and exciting cultures. I specialize in immersive trips, ones that can really get you past just the things the typical tourists come for and into what every day normal life looks like for your destination. I love to find tours and locations that go places that m

ost others haven’t been to, offering a most unique experience for you. When creating your personalized quote, I draw from several types of travel planning:
-Traditional tour-based trips - for those who are uncomfortable navigating a foreign destination on their own, or who are looking for camaraderie from strangers (or maybe future friends!) on their adventure, a traditional tour-based trip might be a great option for your trip.

-FITs (Foreign Independent Trips) - if you are comfortable with being without a guide in a new locale, I can build out an independent trip that takes you to all the sites that you desire to experience, and allows you to immersive yourself with locally based restaurants and tours where you can converse with the people who live there.

-Geek-a-ways - I am a self-proclaimed geek and I know firsthand that those who are passionate about something often want to travel to important destinations related to it! Maybe you are hoping to see Lallybroch for yourself in Scotland, or travel the roads Cersei did in Croatia, or, like me, want to run the steps in Philly that Rocky used to train for his big fight - I can help! I’ll use my love for planning travel to make your geeky passion a reality!

-Warm weather escapes - Residing in Minnesota has many pleasant qualities, but it can get a little frigid, especially around mid-January. I can help you, no matter where you call home, to plan a warm weather escape. Whether you are looking for more of a traditional All-Inclusive resort in Mexico or the Caribbean, seeking a trip Down Under or to somewhere else in the Southern Hemisphere, or searching for more of a unique haven in warmer areas of nature, I can find you someplace to flee the cold!

This year I’ve been trying to find ways to give back: either monetarily or with my time and expertise. Today I have a table at a local alternative high school’s resource fair to talk about entrepreneurship and owning my own travel agency.

🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃

This year the weather is looking crummy in Minnesota (snow is in the forecast for tonight and it’s pouring rain right now), but we took our Halloween photo early! We will still brave the elements tonight for some trick or treating.

I love it when my clients come back to have me plan more trips for them! I really treasure the relationships I build with each trip, and love being able to find those special moments for my clients that only come from knowing them and their preferences.

Today’s is about pharmacies in Europe. In many ways, the pharmacist in a European pharmacy is similar or better than a visit to a doctor (for small issues). I was feeling like I may have some sinus drainage from a cold and went into the pharmacy to get some vitamins and things to help deal with my symptoms. The pharmacist listened to what was troubling me and found the items they would recommend. They also have both the more typical pharmaceutical products that we tend to be used to in the US as well as homeopathic and natural remedies, and are well versed in both.

Today on Terceira I had a chance to explore the island a bit, including descending down into a volcanic chimney, one of two places in the world where you can do so. The landscape of the Azores is lovely. ❤️

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 that it’s easy to miss content from me on social media, for 2 reasons:

1) algorithms only show you certain content, even if you’ve liked or followed me already, and possibly more importantly

2) I don’t post all my content on social media, and when I get busy, the first thing to disappear are my social media posts.

Yesterday I was able to attend a seminar on River and Niche Cruising. I’ve been able to book some clients on river cruises in the past and they’ve all raved about it. I’m excited to start booking more niche cruises like expedition cruises, small ship cruises, and cruises to more unique destinations (like Antarctica, the Arctic, and non-European rivers).

Tonight I attended the Haiti Outreach gala as a sponsor and enjoyed a Haitian tasting menu and the music of several Haitian musicians.

is a unique organization in that they are working toward development of Haiti versus relief work. They help provide access to clean water and just as importantly they are providing leadership training so that Haitian communities can be the ones to organize, maintain, and build their water supplies, as well as have leaders to come together to build their country. They have a goal to make Haiti a developed country in our lifetime!

I started Experience Culture Travel to fulfill a dream I’ve had for 10+ years of becoming an active/adventure travel agent. I love traveling, seeing new places, and experiencing new cultures. To me, travel is all about learning about how people live, so that I can grow and understand the world and the people in it better. With each trip, I see myself learning to be more open, caring, empathetic, inquisitive, and embracing the wonder of the world around me, and by becoming a travel agent, I can now help others to experience those things too.
