LAVA has held numerous exhibitions at: The Pasadena Public Library; Enuit Gallery in Venice, Ca., The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, to name just a few, and had been commissioned by the Los Angeles Dept. of Probation to complete a mural to commemorate “Cesar Chavez” at the Probation Firestone Area Office. Our last two LAVA group exhibitions were held Elderberries in Hollywood, Ca. in January 2011, and the 13th Annual Rose Variety Arts Show was held in Studio City in May 2011. In addition to the LAVA exhibitions, our multi- talented artists perform or exhibit their work independently through other venues. LAVA has made significant monetary, clothing, and toy contributions to the Bienvenidos Children’s Center in West Covina, Ca., has contributed to baskets of food to the homeless on Christmas & Thanksgiving, and contributed to Earth Day in West Los Angeles to collect litter from portions of the Santa Monica Beach. As a community based art group LAVA artists remain committed to promoting the arts and giving back to the community. For our current exhibit at the Celebrity Centre in Hollywood, LAVA is donating to two worthy charities; Bienvenidos Children’s Centre, and Mon Amoure, an organization for orphaned Haitian children spearheaded by artist William Castro. At this event LAVA is proud to present a select group of artists who represent an ethnically diverse cross-section of cultural backgrounds, interests, and academia.
