SEVC Celebrates Hill’sTM Top Dog
And The Winner is ….Lisbon
At the recent Southern European Veterinary Congress (SEVC) in Barcelona, the Hill’sTM Top Dog Challenge was awarded. An exciting race to see which of 45 vet colleges across Europe could mobilise most students to support their nomination as ‘Top Dog’ by casting their vote at www.hillstopdog.com. The college, with the most motivated studen
t body – resulting in the highest percentage of attending students voting – reap the rewards, with the winner receiving €10,000 to support student activities! With a total of over 8,000 votes cast from participating colleges, the top dog challenge created a close finish amongst five colleges.. At the evening event hosted by Hill’sTM the winner was announced to great cheer and celebration by the Lisbon team attending, in fact all attending students joined in the celebration of what was seen as a unique way to help support Veterinary students. Dr Ralph Schickel, Manager for Continuing Professional Development at Hill’s presented the prize to Ines Siborro Azevedo, who represented her classmates in Lisbon. She said ‘How shocked and pleased she was and that the prize would help all the students at the faculty and thanked Hill’s for recognizing the need of Vetinary students. Ines also hoped her mobile would not burn out as it had not stopped ringing from students to find out who had won! Dr Ralph Schickel said "Hill`s is a company committed to veterinarians. We understand the challenges of vet school; and how important it is to build friendships and networks with colleagues. With that in mind, we brought a great group of more than 40 students from across Europe together at SEVC to network with their current and future colleagues. With a full schedule and limited time that can sometimes be challenging, we aim to provide veterinary students opportunities to connect with their colleagues across Europe to help them succeed in their profession. Top Dog is one of those initiatives. We congratulate the Lisbon Veterinary School for their 10,000 Euro prize, to support student events and initiatives at their school." Note to Editors
Participating countries are Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Israel and South Africa. A full list of participating veterinary colleges is available at www.hillstopdog.com/terms
