Florida Pelagic Birding and Fishing out of Miami on a 34' Crusader. Specially built for birding and fishing. I am not a charter boat so not available for hire.

However, I take birding and fishing friends whenever I have the time in my schedule. I'm a former commercial fisherman that took up birding in 1999 and became obsessed with seeing as many rare birds as I can. Since I love the ocean pelagics are my favorite and started chasing pelagic birds in 2005. I am not a birding company or charter captain, and I do not make pelagic birding trips for profit. I

have a boat which I enjoy with friends and family and organize impromptu pelagic birding trips when conditions and my schedule allow. Anyone is welcome to join as long as I have room.

Went out 25 miles with flat calm conditions which is not good for birds. Despite this challenge, we had good results out there with several Wilson's and Band-rumped Storm-Petrels, Sooty and Bridled Tern,, Audubon's Shearwaters, a Brown Noddy, and two Long-tailed Jaegers. We also saw three S***m Whales out near the canyons past the sword grounds. On the way in the wind picked up a bit and we spotted a Black-capped Petrel in 550' of water. It was flying very fast north and at almost 30 mph it was a challenge to keep up. We still managed some photo at this speed. Very exciting to follow this amazing bird for over 3 miles at that speed.
