These drawings with compressed charcoal on dry brushed grounds- really trying to capture the epic energy of the poses with my medium!

Join us for a fabulously expressive day of mixed media drawing capturing line and character – with Schiele style models and costume- with the award winning Kim Scouller

Explore strong use of line and color to bring a real sense of personality to your portraits – with plenty of demonstrations and information on technique we will be taking a deep dive into Egon Schiele’s approach to the model. There will be lots of one to one tuition and information on Schiele and his influences to really allow us to get into his process.

We will be working using coloured pencils and pens

Are you a pastel person? Here are some of my portraits of Boyko back in 2022 I think! I love using chalk pastel - you can achieve so much depth with it- I actually started with big broad hatched areas of colour and tone scrubbed on - smudged it right back - then added layers for more detailed drawing with charcoal pencil over the top - all the saturated colour with the advantage of being able to draw over it 🤩🤩

Good bye to the great David Lynch - the announcement of his passing yesterday prompted me to root out my photos from one of the very first Drawing Theatre events we did at way back in 2010 with London Drawing co-founder . Based around Eraserhead, Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive, and the uneasy imagery he was famous for - BAC was the perfect surrounding for this strange strangeness - beautiful and very very weird. The great Philip Herbert, Mike Williams and Alice performing here ⚡️⚡️
