If you are a fan of oranges, it’s that time of the year again! The nearby town of Silves will be hosting the 9th edition of the orange festival, where you will find several delicious products made with orange and other citrus fruits. In the evenings there will be live music featuring the fantastic fado singer Carminho, a wonderful Portuguese band called Os Quatro e Meia and Rouxinol Faduncho. Silves is a 15 minute drive from Casa Velha Videira. For more info please check the site below.

We recently visited a fab restaurant on the beach, where you can enjoy live music at the weekend! If you like the music you can even get up and dance… last weekend, the fantastic Switha’s band played many of our favourite tunes.Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend!

During the "cooler months", broadly speaking from November to early March, we love to walk along the clifftop trails that lie due east of Praia da Marinha., all the way to Senhora da Rocha. This is the perfect walk for those who enjoy a stroll in nature, taking in the amazing seaviews, visiting some of the beaches which have access from land, visiting by boat/kayak/SUP those beaches that don't... or even enjoying a swim - for those who are brave enough and do not feel cold. Enjoying perfect weather in November!

This trail takes about 1 hour there and another hour to come back to Casa Velha Videira.
