Edinburgh International Festival delivers again! This time an immaculate piece of Sufi Kathak dance amidst a whirl of rose petals. Aakash Odedra’s Songs of the Bulbul is exquisitely beautiful. if you can make it to Edinburgh’s Lyceum Theatre tonight or tomorrow you really should go.

Seminal dance company Grupo Corpo are back as part of Edinburgh International Festival’s program of events - bringing a flavor of Brazilian culture to our fair city. I photographed the company 14 years ago and the performance has always stuck in my mind - this is one of the best dance companies you could ever wish to see - joyful and exuberant.

Plays today and tomorrow at the Edinburgh Playhouse 7.30pm

If Georges Bizet could have chosen his Carmen – he would have chosen Gaëlle Arquez, if he could have chosen his Don José – he would have chosen Saimir Pirgu, he would also have likely chosen Opéra-Comique as his theatre company if he was still here 149 years after Carmen’s premier.

A must see/listen - truly Sublime.

Carmen plays at The Festival Theatre tonight, Tuesday and Thursday as part of Edinburgh International Festival's program of events.

Jascha Boyce is being rightly celebrated on social media by the good folk at . I have been privileged to have worked with Jasch since the first production of ‘A Simple Space’ in 2013 and have photographed the meteoric rise to fame of GOM Circus – due much in part to this talented, lovely lass – ever since.

I second every word of this from GOM, Jascha Boyce - you are a cornerstone of our beautiful circus family xx

“As 2023 draws to a close, and we reflect on all of our achievements this year, it is impossible not to feel incredible gratitude towards those who work tirelessly behind the scenes at GOM.

This year, we wanted to draw attention to one person in particular;

Jascha Boyce, one of the company founders, has been instrumental in guiding GOM's culture on and off the floor. Her role as creative producer at GOM has seen her steward the company through the COVID pandemic and over the last year successfully secure funding to facilitate some of our most important tours and collaborations.

Dance show 1 -

A whole heap of talented Irish dancers with truly perfect timing are strutting their stuff as part of Edinburgh's Fringe program at EICC.

'Spirit of Ireland' is getting deservedly fab reviews and leaving audiences with the feelgood factor and a whiff of whiskey on their breath.

The show also features Irish legend Michael Redmond (Father Stone for those in the know)... What's not to like!
