I've heard it too many times; "Why would I pay someone to book my travel for me when I can just do it myself?". Very true, you COULD book it yourself. But what if you get stranded on your way out and you're not sure what to do or where to start? What if you want to take a vacation, but have no idea where to go? What if you have a tight budget and only want to spend ### amount of dollas on a trip, but these travel sites only offer the bare minimun of options to you (and usually not even close to what you want)?

If you make a mistake booking your own trip, you are responsible for "paying" your way out of it. (I can already tell you, calling the airline or hotel and telling them "Expedia booked me on the wrong flight/date" won't work. YOU are still responsible.)
So why not let someone who knows what they're doing plan your trip for you? Yes, there may be a fee involved, but imagine all of the money you would save if you could get that upgrade or add on for free, or if you didn't have to pay for a mistake you would have made by booking your own trip.
