A huge thank you to Andy at
North Barker who has managed a multi year process of “voluntourism” to finally rid Picnic Island, Freycinet, Tasmania. of the mirror bush infestation that is so common on islands in Tasmania.

It will require ongoing maintenance for years as seedlings pop up again but it is now at a point where it is under control and manageable. In time we will eventually be rid of all active seed and rootstock so until then our programme will continue.

Many thanks to all the “voluntourists” that have supported the programme over the years . It is a great model for other islands to follow.
