There has been a variety of shorebirds passing through the area in recent days. An early morning visit to Portland Harbour with the adjoining Fleet at Ferrybridge was taken to connect with the passage of shorebirds.

West Morden Dorset - Today's single footed male White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) G463 from the Isle of Wight reintroduction program. Thanks to Birds of Poole Harbour for confirming the ring number.

WeBS and winter Finch count days at Bardolf Farm.
The temperature drop to -5 last night has resulted in an interesting sighting today of Corn Bunting (Emberiza calandra). Although regular at Maiden Castle in Dorchester, this species has not been recorded since December 2010 and Goosander (Mergus merganser) are rare visitors to the farm!
