3 Warm Getaways You Can Fly to Directly from MSP. Orlando - Best known for Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios, excellent vacations for any family. There are a lot of other attractions around Orlando or within driving distance. You may even be able to time your visit to coincide with a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral. It is a great jumping off point for a Caribbean or Bahamas cruise and there is no need for a connecting flight to Orlando with many non-stop flights. Cancun - If you don't like having a layover, direct flights between Minneapolis and Cancun make this another excellent option to escape the cold and snow of winter. All-inclusive resorts take the thinking about your vacation with everything from your food, entertainment and drinks handled. Dad's you can sit back and relax this entire trip and not have to worry about anything. White sand beaches, turquois waters and loads of activities like water parks, Mayan ruins and cenotes will please every member of your family. I forgot shopping, yes there is plenty of shopping! This third one is really a toss-up because there are some excellent contenders here to escape the winter blues but I am going with.... Phoenix, AZ - It might not be on everyone's bucket list but Phoenix in the winter is not Phoenix in the summer. If you are looking to escape the cold and snow of winter you can expect very comfortable temperatures. We can plan a visit where you go it on your own to see what the city attractions have to offer, hike the many desert trails around the city or take in a round of golf. If you would like to see the canyons of the southwest consider a guiding group tour that will bring you to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon or Zion National Park.
