Some great pictures of NLC (Noctilucent clouds) from our good friend Lance!
Stu about to start his magic 😁😎
Let's see those likes 👍😎 if you're missing those storms like the SNF team are.
Phone shot of some EPIC structure taken north of Kearney, NB on 07/06/24.
It's our first full day back on home soil, getting over that jetlag and the sadness of not chasing storms 😭 Back in the Alley though and there's a decent setup and chance for supercells and tornadoes in Western Nebraska! SPC going with 5% tornado probabilities 🌪️ Oh to be back there chasing again 😁
Breakfast of champions 🙈🤣 last chase day 😭..... Let's get it!
The team are now in Iowa and the 12th state of the trip 🤯....
🎯 nailed but gonna have to leave the party early to make tomorrows risk and our final chase day of the 24 trip 😭
Starting the day in Sioux Falls, SD expectations were low due to the horror stories 😱 of the trees and lakes of Minnesota were swirling around those chasing today...
The team bimbled into MN for lunch in the picturesque town of Redwood Falls, while we waited for the atmosphere to start giving up it's secrets 🕵️ for a nailed on 🎯
Although the best spinny things potential was further north the road options and NW/SE and improved visibility made the i95 corridor the best option...
As we headed north via the world's largest 🐦⬛ the atmosphere erupted 💥 and we closed on a rapidly developing supercell bagging a surprisingly good view 👀
We stair stepped down 🪜 for as long as we could almost unaliving a snapping 🐢 in the process, as you can see he was less than impressed.
Time to utilise the interstate as the storm took off SE at over 50mph jumping on and off the junctions to get those photos and the obligatory shelfie selfies
🌩️😎🤳
Our storm went 🦁 mode and 🌪️ warned with 👻 white wisps dancing in and above the trees...the local tornado sirens 🔊 ringing out and sound that will always give us goosebumps.
We carried on SE but as Minneapolis was looming on the horizon and the storm running out of 😮💨 the guests shot some 📸⚡ as the sun set...a pretty solid chase 💪😎
2 days left and 2 solid risks let's gooooooo
HOLY MOLY! Near St Cloud, MN
Found the big T! 🐢
Can you guess what type of shot everyone is trying to get? 🧐🌩️🛣️
The SNF team have bagged their first ever severe warned storm in erm Minnesota...the land of ten thousand lakes 🫣 ⛵ 🌩️
And we're off! Things have started to happen West of Alexandria, Minnesota 😁
The push east continues and next on the weird and wonderful sights of the 'middle bit' of Merica is the rather corny 🌽 👑 Corn Palace 👑 🌽....the 'artwork' changes each year and is made up of individual corn cobs.....a veritable corn hub for the fans of this veggie.
Anyway onwards...turns out South Dakota is rather wide. 🫣
What storm chasing tour isn't complete without a visit to an intercontinental ballistic nuclear missile silo 🕵️🚀🤯
Quick update on yesterday's chase, it was scuppered by the Amish at a gas station in South Dakota...🧑🌾🌾
A sentence we never thought we would type but that's chasing for you 🤗
The storms lined out quickly and raced away....like all other chasers we let the system overrun us and called it early.....time to head east for 3 straight chase days coming up ⚡😈
Messy, Rumbly, Grumbly storms on the Wyoming / South Dakota border....and into the 10th state of the trip 🫣
A great night was had catching up with friends last night! Paul and his Weatherholidays team were on good form as we took over the local bar in Lusk! Back to storms today as we head north 😎
Risks are heading north and so are the team via the wonders of Nebraska...🤔
Chimney Rock is significantly shorter than in the pioneer days because it's been struck by lightning in the 50s and the 90s.
Smashing through a bowing MCS storm south of Burlington 👊😎 weird things going on behind the main front.....
Safe to say yesterday chase day over performed.
Starting in Arapahoe, NE we headed west via Wray and a BBQ lunch to check out severe storms rolling off the mountains.
The ⚡ was intense with power lines fizzing and cracking overhead. There was a North/South split and we rolled the 🎲 on the southern play...
Our target soon went super cellular with a very pronounced meso cyclone and wall cloud. We paralleled the storm which produced a small spin up 🌪️ confirmed by the SPC....(guest pictures to follow)
Things began to get messy with multiple cells, the team sat and watched things evolve with angry CG bolts raining down.
The system soon began to line out and there was no choice but to be overrun by the system. The team drove through near 100mph winds near Burlington which was an intense experience to say the least....🫣
🍺 's and 🥩's to end the day..
How on earth has this not put down another!
Okay then 🧐, South of Seibert, Colorado
🧐🌩️ Near Anton, Colorado
An absolutely amazing day chasing in central Nebraska. The highlight was near Ansley with this amazing sculpted Supercell! The hail roar was out of this world and the loudest we've ever heard ☄️ It morphed into various shapes until eventually lining out. A superb lightning show to finish as it drifted South in to Kansas! Some great views from the home office during yesterday's chase through Nebraska....
This is what we refer to as the run away and hide stage 🫣 the windshields taken a bit of damage so can't risk any more big hail 🚗 ☄️
She's still ripping...we poked our nose in for a 😋 🌪️ and sampled some very strong wrapping rain curtains outside of Broken Bow as she went T warned. Blasting out the front we grabbed some shots underneath the loudest hail roar we have ever heard....this is what it's all about 🤩
Offffft Nebraska getting it done today..........
Well this escalated quickly 😁😎
Blasting north to target and punching through some funky skies on route.

Around and around and around.....looking directly up into a developing tornado in NE Colorado yesterday.
Time to dig in to the stash of photos and get some time lapse editing done! @arronhiscox @stushortphotography @davidjohnnyvicary
Chase Day 5: Start: Lubbock, TX End: San Angelo, TX 413 miles After an eventful and adrenaline filled chase the day before, we made our way down towards the San Angelo area of Texas for more of the same. We waited it out near Sterling City, consuming the best flavoured Pringles known, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic. We also made friends with a Trapdoor 🕷️🫣 something we'll not to do again 😂 A supercell exploded to our South, so we made our way off-road, until the road turned in to someone's private ranch 🤔🙈 eventually we found ourselves underneath this beautiful classic supercell with some huge hail falling all around. ABI (the car) took a few dents, but she's coping well with £'ing 🤫 Video below! We got ahead of the now evolving bow echo as it went through San Angelo. The big green munching machine was on our tail. We let that pass over us for fun and headed back towards San Angelo for round two. We parked up ready, and were joined by the 4 tour vans of SLT... Then, one of our lot stole one of their lots ice cream 😱😂🫣 Before the lightning put on a show with plenty of upward zings! Back to San Angelo for food at 🗻😏🗻 A couple of travel days now as we head north 🚙
Chase Day 2: Start: Ardmore, OK End: Kilgore, TX Started the day out in Ardmore and finished fitting out the car with tech. We eventually made our way to Paris, Texas for lunch at Braums. 5 junior burgers for $5.95 you say 🤔🙋🏼♂️ It was hot and humid, ice cream was called for whilst we waited for the cold front to come through and help them storms get going. The money saved on lunch went on a very expensive Oreo treat 🤫 Storms eventually got going near Tyler, TX and we followed them East through the evening. Visibility wasn't great but a few zingers were seen and lots of rumbles heard. We booked a hotel in Kilgore and had an intense drive through a storm on the interstate. Unfortunately, this storm took out the power in the town and they didn't have our reservation 🫣 we'll just say the next hour and a half was interesting trying to find somewhere to stay well after midnight...... All part of the fun though! 😂 Video clip 👇
