Song lines, Leylines, Serpents and Saviours

I am not an expert in this area but thought I would offer a few words based on an examined and lived experience. This article is more of an introduction for those that have no experience with the concept of planetary energy lines or energy medicine.

Like the human body that can be mapped with energy signatures of all kinds including energy centres, meridians and trigger points, Gaia herself also holds these patterns. These patterns are called song lines in Aboriginal folklore and hold essential dreamtime history, cultural timelines, lore, stories and healing. The song lines blanket this ruggedly beautiful land, telling amazing and powerful stories that live and breathe alongside our "real world". In very similar ways other cultures talk of energy lines (eg Dragon lines in China) or more generally ley lines.

Leylines blanket the world as do song lines. Old roadways, modern highways, alley ways and significant buildings often run along ley lines or sit directly on energy nodes. One of the most famous of these is the St Michael line. This line runs through many notable structures, atones circles, mounds, and ancient worship sites.

Named after St Michael this line tells the story of Michael and his battle as a force of light against darkness, the line passes through the UK (see map) and many believe ends in Jerusalem. Like many other countries the UK has thousands of notable sites, some in ruin or destroyed but many well maintained and pepper this line and many others. Natural springs, fairy mounds, stone circles are all places of increased energy.

Like walking the song lines in the desert with the Ngangkari, walking the leylines in the UK is a spiritual pilgrimage for many. Showing due respect to these sites and helping to maintain them keeps important ancestral stories alive.

The St Michael line tells the story of an epic battle between a lead Angel (a light being) against a dragon/serpent as does the Norse story of Thor and the Midgard serpent during Ragnarok. Many cultures carry stories of epic battles leaving evidence for the battles across the land. St Michael's ley line is one such energy signature, an epic battle that is invisible but still felt, ongoing and resonant.

Leylines hold the stories, the past and the future. By walking the lines we imbibe our energy into them, they breath again in myth and in reality.

This June this year I travel these lines in the UK and I suggest we all reconnect with our ancestral routes as these lines are all over this realm. The native tongue and the electricity in our blood brings them alive once again as we touch earth. We are all indigenous to somewhere in this world the challenge is to reconnect to that land and collectively light the lines up once again...world wide.

Cyril updates on the plans for the journeys hinting at distant desert lands to the west of Uluru, the Ukata Dreaming Lands. These lands hold water holes and opportunities for deeper healings. The song lines will open this year and allow for journeys.... As always guided in time and space by the ancestors."

Last week I had the honour of meeting a wonderful woman by the name of Francisca who grew up in Chile but now calls the Northern Beaches of Sydney her home. She is well connected with Q'ero Shamans from Peru who are now descending from the mountains to share their healing, perfectly timed with other healers around the the world including here in Australia, with the song lines starting to vibrate strongly and lighting the way to a higher healing.

The shared vision of Cyril and mine of possibly welcoming Sth American shamans to a fire ceremony in the central desert next year may be realising before our eyes...time will tell.

Ukata Dreaming tours (UDT) is very excited to announce a business joint venture currently in development with . By bringing the Elder Wisdom and story keeping within UDT to an already established tour in and around Uluru, will ensure a smooth transition for the inaugural deep desert song line journey in May and also lead to a strong partnership ongoing. With the support of Rockstars NT we will now be able to include a first night of tours around Uluru, camping the first night at Yulara to then awaken at sunrise to the majesty of Uluru. We will then spend three days on sacred land camping with the Anungu Ngangkari Elders. We can now also potentially end the trip with an easy camp back at Yulara, to allow for a trip debrief, welcomed showers and spiritual reintegration before making the flights home.

Ngangkari healing is an ancient energetic healing system specific to the Anungu people (traditional owners of Uluru) that taps into dreamtime and ancestral lines. Traditionally the healing was given by a recognised healer at a sacred site, to heal the individual and also the land.

Dr Spencer speaks alongside the Ngangkari and the CE of ANTAC Anangu Ngangkari Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation at Wellington Hospital, NSW around their journey so far of bringing this ancient healing into a modern hospital setting. The aim is to not only heal the spirit but also the ancestral line of the patient as a result.

Ukata dreaming partner and fire keeper 🔥 Roger Menadue shares the significance of fire stories on our tour...

"As human beings we have been coming together around Fire since the beginning of time.

Humanity recognised that Fire holds a spiritual presence within us; in our physical bodies, our hearts, and can be the catalyst for inner transformation.

When sitting with Fire in an expertly facilitated circle, deep reflective listening is possible. This creates an authentic chance to tell personal stories, to have your triumphs and trials heard in an energetically held space. The fire listens and guides, transforms and heals.

Human beings are relationship beings, Fire can help warm and bring people closer together in a very natural setting.

Warmth, spark, passion, connection, transformation, are a few ways that describe the medicine of Fire, and its effect in the world.

It transforms, burning away "old wood" and fostering renewal. This is seen in physical landscapes as well as metaphorically in the human psyche.

Fire holds a very special place for humans, it has a life and spirit of its own and is the common denominator for all indigenous cultures around the world even today."

The desert landscape through an artist's eyes...

Written by Dr Clay Spencer, Ukata Dreaming tours

I am inspired to write this story following a brief contact with desert artists group that rekindled a feeling and memory. I wanted to share my experience with Cyril and Ukata tours thus far...through an artist's eyes

Five years ago I started painting and ever since the world has shone in a different light.

I now see the peaceful greens and yellows in a brutal ocean scene crashing against the shore where before I only saw blues. The sky now holds all colours and hues in a pregnant pause, all that shifts is the palette.

Most importantly, the desert landscape is seen by many as desolate, that is until an artist lays their weary head on the iron rich soil and starts to dream a new dream. The fine crystals in the sand twinkle expectantly, the distant sounds become clearer and the night sky lights up.

As we weave the old stories back through their song lines guided by the Ngangkari and through the life breath. We are touching up a wondrous and ancient canvas that has long since missed the breath of the creative hue-man, that sees the beauty within and realises that like with all artwork, the imperfections are what make the work perfect. And no art work, like dreaming, is ever truly complete but simply lovingly abandoned when enough life has been re-breathed into it. When it has its own motion and a kind of knowing, a star being, a heartfelt intent that finally finds the way home.

Star maps, the ancient information superhighway..

One of the main star systems Ukata Dreaming tours connects with is that of the Pleiades, a bright blue twinkling distant cluster of seven main stars.

Like all star maps one needs to learn to read them. The stars in the canopy all correspond to a landmark or sacred site on earth and with practice can be used to navigate the lands - Something you will learn about on our tour. They also symbolise the main characters in the tale of the seven sisters, a story told by many cultures around the world including the ancient Greeks.

Connect the dots in the sky and you have the main songlines on earth. Many large modern highways also travel along these lines but that something is for another post...

What of the songlines in the ocean? How are they mapped as they are covered with water 💦... well for those, we are guided by the living crystals that are our whales and dolphins 🐬 we are not the only mammals guided by song lines.

Ukata tours is for you if..

1. You love adventure and even a little risk, travelling to places that many people never see.

2. You see the journey as important or even more so than the destination.

3. You see others as spirited beings that are not simply reduced to a category by age, gender or culture, all children of the stars.

4. You feel that you have truly seen the desert when you're wearing half of it..

5. You believe 4WD vehicles should be covered in dust and mud.

6. No evening is truly complete without a conversation around a crackling desert fire

Finally..

7. You believe that in journeying together we reconnect and co-create a new, more true and beautiful world 🌍

Here Dr Clayton shares the logo he created for Ukata dreaming tours and how the dream and connection between us is strong.

'I created the logo for Ukata dreaming tours on instinct and for some reason it just seemed natural to have two stars over Uluru. Once I had made it I sent it to Cyril.

Cyril sent me the following photos from his house looking over Uluru that he took the night before the logo was created.. the two stars.. star beings.

a very meaningful coincidence'.

The central desert has a heart beat that draws us near, guides our steps as we travel, as if dreaming, to a distant past. To return to deafening silence and then to experience a reawakening as we emerge.

This journey is challenging, as are all spiritual rebirths. In the silent beauty of the desert you soon realise however that it is the authentic challenges which invite success and the rugged imperfections that create crystalline perfection.

Here Dr Clayton shares a short story about our last desert trip.

'As we were returning from Ukata and having a yarn just outside of Mutitjulu, an early morning conversation turned for sone reason to the subject of raw quartz crystals and whether there were any around this area. I had heard that there were dreamtime stories around crystals and I was keen to explore these stories.

Adrian, another Ngangkari and close friend shared the story of when he was a young fella running around his birth land he felt a sharp in his foot, looked down and saw blood streaming onto the desert sand. Next to him were huge and very obviously sharp crystals jutting from the desert floor. Now aged 48 he had not been back to these lands for at least 30 years. He remembered how to get there although there are few landmarks and he would need to guide on instinct, so filled with sense of adventure we left with a group of five including Cyril and my 12 y o son.

We travelled theough some of the most challenging 4WD tracks I have ever seen, through gorges, dry sandy river beds often and necessarily "at speed" to which my son exclaimed "Dad this is so cool, just like in GTA". We had wild brumbies gallop and leap across our path, trains of camels by our side and at one point were challenged by a massive scrub bull, pure wilderness but alas no crystals.. we keep driving for three more hours until I had finally surpassed my comfort zone and demanded we camp here..

The sun was setting, a sense of peace had settled over us and for a while we could not find Adrian who had walked off into the distance. As it turned out, this camp site was a part of his childhood home and we watched as he sat on the hills and looked over land imagining himself once again as that child running wild and free through the desert landscape. We never did find the crystals but Adrian found much more and had we not gotten lost then he would never have found what he was looking for. Sometimes when things feel like they are falling apart they are really just falling into place.'

Here is an account from longtime supporter and volunteer Dr Clayton Spencer who attended our dreaming journey with his 12 year old.

'The photo below is of my 12 yo son Darcy receiving a Ngangkari treatment in the traditional setting by camp fire. Darcy suffers from ADHD and the healer Cyril said that he is removing the "little running boy" and releasing him into the desert so he can run free and chase the camels. In the photo, at the back of Darcy's head, is what the Ngangkari call an orb, it is green in colour. These orbs are sometimes seen in photos during the healing or when a spirit is present. Cyril is singing to the orb as this is the "little running boy" being released. A special moment for all, including his Dad.'

Firstly the Ukata team would like to thank those that have already applied online for the trips for next year and also for this who have kindly donated through our GoFundMe to fund a trip this year to film a mini documentary. This filming is looking to occur in Nov. I will keep you all updated.

The last few weeks have been personal cause for reflection around what it is that the trips are ultimately aiming to achieve and in particular how do to make the journeys meaningful, a little challenging and ideally personally transformative. One word sums this up for us, connection.

For this reason we are now looking at a walkabout component to the trip, led by the Anangu Elders and between sacred sites. So the trips in 2024 will likely include a combination of (fairly easy) desert walks through sacred lands guided by the Elders who will connect by walking with you. In early evening you will arrive at the camp sites already set up and with fire cooked meals and the billy nestled in the fire. Naturally Aboriginal astronomy, dreamtime stories and Ngangkari style healing will feature each evening. Again connection is the key word. Connection across and within cultures, in the silent beauty of the desert.

The story continued...

The first day we had five patients turn up and the second we had thirty as well as a waiting list and requests from many more communities as "word spread across the land". From one hopsital to three and then to fourteen. Feedback from the community was strongly supportive "this is what the community needs", "let us lead again in our health".

The requests kept coming, SBS/NiTV and ABC all came to film us work in the hospital. We then expanded into Sydney, first Nepean Hospital then the NSW Prison System and the finally RPA was planned but everything stopped in 2020/2021 when Covid restrictions hit and we went into hiatus. ANTAC also struggled and everything went quiet.

I kept in touch with the healers and one day Cyril called me from Uluru and asked me to help him set up his vision for a dreaming tour, so I flew to Uluru and we went bush for a few days. He articulated what he was seeing and what his ancestors were guiding him to do. We travelled to Ukata and mapped out the route and shared our vision of offering healing to travellers in swags under the stars. It was more than just healing though it was actively dreaming together to create the new world, an ambitious task. We further refined the trip and then my 12 year old son was the first "participant" (he still talks about the trip). This year we ran hospital clinics again, this time at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in partnership with RPA however the Dreaming Tours vision continues to only grow in strength and ancestral draw.

How it all began. This story is told in the words of my dreaming brother Dr Clayton Spencer.

Ukata Dreaming Journey is an ancestral vision shared between myself and Cyril based on conversations in the desert last year and following a long journey together. This is a story worth telling I feel, as it has shaped very much, where we are today and why we are here.

In 2016 I was working as the Executive Medical Director of Western NSW Health. This health service includes over 30 hospitals spread across NSW from Bathurst to Bourke. As a medical Dr I have travelled the world looking at ancient healing practices and have been initiated into several different tribes/nations but have always had a strong connection to Aboriginal healing in Northern QLD and Arnhem land with the Yolgnu. I was yet to experience the healing style of the Ngangkari however.

I was invited to a workshop on Aboriginal Health at Sydney Uni in 2016 and to my surprise the Ngangkari Healers were
presenting on what they do through their organisation ANTAC Anangu Ngangkari Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation and with their CE Francesca Panzironi.

I learned of their story and more importantly their struggle to find a place for their ancient healing in the 21st Century. I made a promise to them that day that within 6 months, I will bring them into the hospital system in Western NSW and we will run clinics, funded by the hospital and offered free of charge to the local communities both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal.

6 months later... we ran our first clinic (as a pilot) at Bathurst Hospital...
