St. Petersburg bridge opening
St. Petersburg's bridges open in the early morning hours to allow big ships to pass down the Neva River. There are night tour boats that will cruise the Neva beginning at 11:30 pm and back to port around 3:00 am. Food and drinks are served. The bridges and palaces along the Neva are lighted making for great picture taking. If you get caught on the wrong side of the bridge, you have to wait several hours for the bridge to close to get back to your hotel.

Ladies making Picarones de Camote y Zapallo in Cusco, Peru
On Sunday, John and I planned a walk-about in Cusco, Peru. We turned a corner to come face-to-face with a festival in full swing on the Plaza de Armas. The festival was hosted by the social societies of Cusco. Following the parade, each organization set up a food tent. This tent served Picarones (like a donut). They were delicious. See the short video on how they were made.
Languinilla Ski Resort at Cajon del Maipo
Twila, daughter, is visiting from the US. We spent the day at Langunilla Ski Resort (Cajon del Maipo) sledding down the mountain. We had so much fun. Many thanks to Maricel, Martin and Al from Chilean Way for making it a great day.
Garganta Diablo at Cataratus Iguazu (Iguazu Waterfalls) in Nor...
Iguazu Waterfalls (Cataratus Iguazu), located in Northern Argentina, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. I could post dozens of photos and videos, but until you stand before the power of these falls can you truly appreciate their magnificence. If you have a list, give it top priority. In my travels, I've never seen anything to compare.
Man playing accordion on Santiago Metro
Santiago is filled with entertainment. People sing, play instruments, dance...everywhere.Today I was coming home on the Metro (Santiago subway) when this man began playing the accordion. He played about three songs, came around for propino (tips) and off he went to another car. Of course, we clapped and gave him our small change. A way to enjoy the ride.

At the docks in Castro, Chiloe (Chile's resort island) they sell this strange sea-creature called, Erizo. I was offered a "taste," but I just couldn't take the plunge.
