Some ports have shallow waterways which makes it impossible for these large cruise ships to dock.
When docking is not an option for a cruise ship, it will anchor in the deeper water offshore, and use smaller boats, called tenders, to get passengers to and from shore. The process is also referred to as tendering.

LEGOLand Beach Retreat was the hotel of choice for our VolleyBall Tournament in Winter Haven. Even though this was a tournament for older teens the space was fun and exciting. The drive through check in service will take you from your car to room in minutes.
The villages of 83 beach-themed bungalows are designed to look like larger than life LEGO sets, they are set up as individual duplex bungalow, all with beautiful patios . The bungalows are all within walking distance of the resort’s pool and restaurant.
The layout is similar to a standard hotel room with a king bed in the main area; but there is separate bunkbed nook for children. There is a trundle if needed, and a family of 5 will fit comfortably in the space. There is a privacy curtain that is used to separate the kids area from the main bedroom.
There is a play area in each pod where parents can sit on their patios, and watch their kids at play.
BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED: There is is a buffet with a wide array of eggs, cereals, bacon, pancakes, fruits, and pastries to start your day. Be sure to tell your wait staff about any allergies, and they will try to make your meals to order.
We did not explore the pool area due to our rigorous volleyball schedule.
This is a great choice especially for families with younger children.
