"YET ANOTHER SIAM ROADS SUCCESS!

I have booked five different guides from Siam Roads over the last year and a bit.

The latest experience was two days in the company of Duc, “Dave” in Da Nang.

What can I say?

Like his colleagues, he is exceptionally proficient.

Each guide has a slightly different approach to the role. I admit that because of his other commitments, initial contact was slightly slow. However, once we made contact via a few WhatsApp messages and one WhatsApp call, he sprang into action. From these few exchanges, he understood completely what I was after and what I did not want.

He devised a programme tailored for me, and went above and beyond the call of duty by suggesting hotels which might be suitable.

When we finally met, it was like we had known each other forever – we were on the same wavelength from the start.

The visits he planned were just what I wanted AND timed to perfection.

Duc knows Da Nang and the surrounding areas like the back of his hand. I would go so far as to say that no visit to Da Nang would be complete without spending time with this superbly professional Siam Roads travelling companion!

First review on Leo's tours in Hanoi (Vietnam)

My fourth experience with a Siam Roads was every bit as good as the first three.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of spending time with Leo in Hanoi. He is obviously passionate about his city and enjoys sharing his knowledge.

Contact via WhatsApp was simple and efficient with rapid responses. Having found out what I was looking for, Leo came up with a proposed, detailed itinerary for the day which ticked all the boxes.

During our tour of the major sites, Leo gave clear information and recounted anecdotes in such a way that I felt I was with a knowledgeable friend and, like the other Siam Roads guides I have engaged, not someone in “press-to-play tour-guide mode”. This is a consummate professional who knows how to guide!

His early evening mini food tour was a delight as he knows places away from the tourist traps.

Thanks to his meticulous planning, we packed a lot into the day and I can say that I did not see the time passing – there was never a dull moment.

My one regret about having booked one day with Leo is that I did not book two days!

The next time I am in Hanoi, booking another day with Leo will be top of list.

Hello,

Having just used the services of Good in Luang Prabang, I feel the need to express how happy I am. Please feel free to use the following on your site, your page or elsewhere.

I have just come back from having spent a day with “Good” in Luang Prabang.

From first contact, I knew that here was a guide who knew what he was doing. We discussed via WhatsApp what I was looking for, he made some suggestions and we agreed a programme. He delivered what he promised and some! He is very knowledgeable and astutely drip-feeds the history at a rate that digestible.
Visiting the Kuang Si waterfalls, he assessed the capacities of his client and adjusted the walking pace accordingly.

Every city should have a “Good”! Having said that, the nickname “Good” really is not appropriate, he should be called “Exceptional”!

This is the third Siam Roads guide I have met after the incredible Woody in Chiang Mai and the wonderful Mac in Bangkok. All three superb guides! I can’t wait to meet more in different cities.

Hello, we booked Will for a Day/Night tour of Saigon. Will was very welcoming to us, arrived right on time and we had the most wonderful day with him. His knowledge is amazing being a local Saigonese, and we were taken to a stunning roof top garden restaurant, then a tour of the Reunification Museum. Will is a very relaxed and friendly guy, we so enjoyed our time with him and he can be highly recommended as the perfect guide in Saigon. Thanks Will.

I have recently completed a trip to Thailand.

I had Mac as a companion/guide. I cannot recommend him enough!

His communication via WhatsApp prior to my arrival was excellent. He assisted me with transport arrangements and was happy to help with anything by request and as it happened. I was able to enjoy some of the most beautiful touring sites, get in a lot of the best shopping available. Mac also showed me around the nightlife areas in the later hours whilst advising me on everything i needed to know to safely enjoy the entertainment, also the dangers and traps that lurk for foreigners and how to avoid them.

Not only is he a wonderful, caring and client focused young man, he is extremely knowledgeable about everything from Thai history, culture and customs. He even advised on the best times of day to visits certain areas and when to employ different modes of transport to avoid untimely delays in traffic or otherwise.

When you employ a guide for 14 hours in a day, they will need to eat as well. Mac was happy to source inexpensive food from street vendors to save me money, However I insisted he join me inside the beautiful and cost effective Thai food establishments that he introduced me to. Even then Mac would only have a very basic dish, forever keeping and eye on my expenditure.

Mac, if you read this thank-you! You are an absolute angel and a truly amazing tour companion. I will use him again and again on my future visits.

New review on Woody's tour in Chiang Mai:

Not just an ordinary tour, more of a trip shared with a friend Because of my delayed flight, my pre-booked day with Woody became impossible. Woody very kindly offered to change the trip to the following day (Christmas day). A wonderful day despite cloudy weather; we went to Doi Inthanon and discovered its beauties.

Woody is an excellent driver, charming travel companion and knowledgeable about the region. He has a selection of good restaurant addresses up his sleeve and can be trusted to select dishes to suit your tastes. Lunch was near the market on Doi Inthanon, dinner was at an authentic northern Thai restaurant and afterwards we followed this up with a show.

After a few minutes in his company, you feel like you have known him a while, after a day together, you feel like you are with a dear friend.

Next time I am Chiang Mai (hopefully pretty soon), I will be booking another tour with Woody.
