Completed project by for in Los Angeles with support from the students!

Artist Bio: Kalli Arte is a family artists collective based in Boyle Heights. Kalli Arte was started by two self-taught artist: Adriana Carranza, Alfonso Aceves and their four children. Kalli Arte is dedicated to speaking directly to their community and beyond through printmaking, gallery exhibitions, art installations, community workshops and marketplaces. All the art work created is originally designed and made by us. •
Artist Statement: We dedicate this mural to all the students in our community who struggle to see all the good that they are. For those who may not have a future, for those that do not think beyond their day to day, this mural is a reminder that it is ok and never too late to see all the possibilities of what life can offer you. We were these students back in high school and now we get to share this mural as a sign of what love can do for us.

***os, or , is a centuries old holiday celebrated in Mexico and throughout Latin America including South America, Central Americas, and the Caribbean annually on Nov. 1 to honor departed loved ones. The souls of deceased relatives are remembered with food, drink and activities they enjoyed when they were alive, and families also leave ofrendas (offerings) at gravesites or on home altars.

Sam Flores’ subject matter includes a myriad of anthropomorphic characters and beautiful goddesses with styles being inspired by Japanese Edo period influenced landscapes, urban contemporary/graf inspired montages, pop-surrealist environments and his most recent works which are inspired by Mexican pulp comic art and classical portraiture. His vibrant and striking El Pollo Loco Día de los Mu***os mural is no exception.

Artist Bio: An integral figure in the world of Urban Contemporary Art, Dean Stockton (AKA D*Face) has been painting the streets of London and beyond since the very earliest days of the genre. With a career that has spanned well over two decades of murals, solo shows and public sculpture his work is instantly distinguished as an iconic staple of British Urban Contemporary Art. Citing California skate culture and the punk / pop aesthetic as his earliest influences, D*Face was initially inspired to follow a path of graphic design and illustration, before eventually taking a more freelance approach to his art. After learning to screen print his own stickers, he took the public domain of the street as his canvas, blending art, design and street art in a manner that few had explored previously. It was in this freshly founded outlet that Stockton quickly gained attention from others for the clean, vivid nature of his designs that quickly spread across the city. In terms of artistic and cultural collaborations, Dean Stockton has worked on countless projects with the likes of Shepard Fairey, Banksy, Blink-182 and Triumph Motorcycles, just to name a few.

Artist Statement: These tightly configured images often leave a lot of interpretation up to the viewer, to question what might be running through the mind of the mysterious female figure as she gazes back out at us. Romantic longing and desire are certainly strong themes of this work and we are made to question who or what might this secretive individual be thinking about as she reclines below the glow of a haze-covered moon?
