Brave Dave

Brave Dave I like big, small and medium-sized adventures during which I often shout at my camera for YouTube.

Yesterday I led five brave souls across Crib Goch in rain showers. Some were more scared than others but all kept moving, which is what matters. Big respect to them all! Further along after the ridge we came across a very stressed couple. Not only were they unsure how to get down off that part of the mountain but the woman had had a panic attack and their backpack containing everything had fallen down a steep slope and lodged on an overhang of slippery rocks. The light was fading, she was crying and he had no idea what to do. There was no way I could leave them like that so I got the guy to take me to where they'd dropped the pack and once we'd spotted it I made a very dodgy (and careful) descent down to where it was, grabbed the bag and climbed the hell back up (also very carefully). After some high fives and hugs I told them to tag along and I'd lead them off the top to the path they needed to be on. My good turn for the day, plus one very big adrenaline rush when making the descent. I bloody love the mountains!!

Hey up, folks! If you feel like you want to get away from it all for a few days, get some exercise, fill those lungs with fresh mountain air, and have a jolly good time (and you can get Friday 27th off work) then get yourself booked on my last Wild Weekend of the year.
From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th September, I'm running a Brave Dave Wild Weekend, based out of an amazing mountain lodge hidden away on the slopes of Snowdon, far from the hustle and bustle of modern life (though we still have electricity, hot water, heating and WiFi).
Come by yourself or get booked with a friend, either way you'll have a fantastic time. Mountain walks, scrambling, wild swimming, BBQ, campfires... it'll be bloody ace!
Just £220 per person. An absolute bargain for an unforgettable few days away!
If you're interested and want to know more then send me a message on here. Or if you know someone who might be interested then link them to this post! Nice one, pal!🌞

I just got back from an ace weekend leading a stag party at a remote mountain lodge. Some might say a recipe for disaster, but I managed to keep them all happy and safe, 'cos that's what I do 😎
Perfect weather, two kegs of beer, a full-on sound system and plenty of freezing cold lakes meant that these ten absolutely sound lads had a top quality time. And respect to the stag for riding the bus, walking the busy Miner's Path and then going into Llanberis on a pub crawl, all whilst wearing very tight leather pants, a fishnet crop top, a biker hat and an inflatable rubber ring.
A quote from one of the guys, whilst we were chilling by a lake in blazing sunshine: "This is the best I've felt in ages! I properly needed this".
I'm leading another weekend based at the lodge in a few weeks (Friday 27th - Sunday 29th September) which will definitely NOT be a stag party. Everyone is welcome! If you'd like to have an equally good time as these guys, but with a bit more mountain walking and slightly less debauchery and fewer hangovers, then let me know! 👍

*Limited spaces available!*
Wanna hang out with me on a mountain for a few days? Get some fresh air, exercise and clear your mind on and around Snowdon, with an ace group of other people, led by myself.
I've organised an awesome group adventure for September and thought that maybe you'd be interested in joining us 😀
It's from Monday to Wednesday (2nd-4th Sep) in an amazing off-the-grid lodge with comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms and even WiFi!
I'll lead us on some ace mountain walks (nothing too demanding, just reasonable fitness required), including some great scrambles. You can go wild swimming in remote lakes, or just dive-bomb into the plunge pool next to the lodge. In the evening we'll get the barbecue going and at night we'll chill around the campfire, enjoying beers under the stars, great conversation, and music, courtesy of my boom-box. And if someone brings a guitar then we can all sing Wonderwall for a couple of hours as well.
Come alone or bring a friend. Either way you'll have an unforgettable stay on this stunning mountain, in an exclusive eco-logde.

Nice one, pal!

Hello there, People of the Interweb! As if it's been two years since I last posted on here! After having received more than one email/message from people genuinely curious as to whether I was dead or not I thought I should probably make a post and give a general update, for anyone who might be interested:
1) I am very much alive (unless I have died between making this post and you reading it, in which case I apologise).
2) Two and a half years ago I went and joined the Fire and Rescue Service, so all my mountain stuff/social media updates kind of took a back seat to that (I still did some Guided Adventures, but few and far between). As it happens, I am looking to get right back into the mountain adventures again, and pump out some videos in the process. Oh and being a firefighter is the best job in the world, and in hindsight it seems like a no-brainer career choice for me, which I should have probably done fifteen years ago! Oh well, better late than never.
3) A couple of months ago I led a group of four Irish lads on the Welsh 3000s which we did in 17 hours, with a total of 21 hours hiking. I just thought I'd mention that because it was by far the toughest walk I've ever done. Ever! The 3000s is hard enough just to complete as a personal challenge, but when you're solely responsible for a group of other people, and there's no back up or support, it's extra, extra tiring. But we did it, and it was fantastic.
So there you go. Hello, and I hope you are well :D

Hey, check out my post from exactly 6 years ago! Heading off to the great unknown. In hindsight, I might have over-packed a few things (mainly the tent which I never used) but hey, better to have it and not use it, than to need it and not have it ;) Hope you're all well!
