Yesterday I led five brave souls across Crib Goch in rain showers. Some were more scared than others but all kept moving, which is what matters. Big respect to them all! Further along after the ridge we came across a very stressed couple. Not only were they unsure how to get down off that part of the mountain but the woman had had a panic attack and their backpack containing everything had fallen down a steep slope and lodged on an overhang of slippery rocks. The light was fading, she was crying and he had no idea what to do. There was no way I could leave them like that so I got the guy to take me to where they'd dropped the pack and once we'd spotted it I made a very dodgy (and careful) descent down to where it was, grabbed the bag and climbed the hell back up (also very carefully). After some high fives and hugs I told them to tag along and I'd lead them off the top to the path they needed to be on. My good turn for the day, plus one very big adrenaline rush when making the descent. I bloody love the mountains!!
