There are some who say GLOBAL WARMING is a myth and some of us are slapped by its brutal impact.
Let's Pledge NOT to Waste WATER this summer.
Use as least as you can.
Save water.
Help replenish mother earth.
Else we are just another race awaiting extinction.
An escape to Bahu.
Bahu is a small village at the height of astounding 2065 mtrs from sea level near the famous Tirthan valley.
This is one of the small distant villages that we look-up from a highway and wonder how people are surviving there. But this one is approachable via a Road, so you have the luxury now. 😅
This small place have a couple of grocery stores ( No sneakers, if you are getting any ideas! ), a tea shop, a vegetable vendor, BSNL exchange and a Primary school. That's it.. There's a small Hanuman Temple as well..
There are just handful of locals living.
There are some guesthouses for travellers.
Most of them are owned by people living in surrounding villages.
How to get there.:
By Road obviously.
Bus:
Get a bus till Aut from Delhi ISBT.
Deboard the bus at Aut(After you cross the tunnel).
Now you can get a local bus for Banjar and can even get a taxi for Bahu directly. Whatever suits your pocket.
If you are bus traveller like me, use the bus till Banjar . Then at the Banjar bus stand you can get another bus to Bahu or get a cab till there. The cab will cost Rs 600-700 .
After you reach Bahu:
As described earlier, small place, less people and mountains everywhere...
There is nothing must to visit, atleast from a trekker's point of view.
But you most certainly will get PEACE.
There is a temple nearby, Balo Temple, hardly 1.5 km from Bahu Primary school. It's a nice walk but the (dirt) road again provides the luxury of taking your small 4 wheelers.
After you reach the Temple premises you'll notice multiple structures. One of them is the biggest, that is the Temple and resting place for the local deity.
The Temple is beautifully decorated during a local festival each year, not certain of the name though. It is celebrated on the months of August - September. You can't be sure of the dates as the priests follow Hindu/Desi calendar and let all know of the 'tithi' (dates) to celebrate the festival.
Although it wasn't the festive season but
