I have been travelling to Bali for over 30 years and I developed an affection for the people and culture of Bali, long before I began working in the airline industry, in the early 1990s. I love Seminyak and the “foodies” culture that has existed there for some time now and I also enjoy trying all of the foods from the 5 star restaurants but also visit the cheap and cheerful warungs that were part of the way I first found Bali all those years ago, however aesthetically different, to the way it now looks. Ubud is one of my favourite places. Also Eastern Bali is incredible and often missed by many. It’s where two of the children I sponsor live and have enjoyed numerous catch ups with them showing me the real Candidasa.
Primarily, my experiences of accommodation in Bali have been in villas but also many hotels. I have stayed in many types from luxury to comfortable. I have been organising groups of women for the past 6 years . My trips are relaxing with a focus on good & organic food, cultural activities, shopping, amazing cocktails and lots of fun!
Originally an English teacher for 5 years, I moved into the airlines as a recruitment officer managing the new flight atttendants and training schools and then as ground staff/training for both Ansett and then Qantas. I then left and returned to higher education as a Tourism and Business Management and Leadership educator.
There is a difference between good and excellent details. As an organiser of groups, I can safely say that my experience and knowledge in Bali is absolutely vital when putting together a group. Having many friends and contacts in Bali over many many years has been invaluable and is essential to my success in leading these groups.
