Greetings from Lee Stockner the creator of Occupational Octaves
This is for all my students who have been learning to play the piano with the Occupational Octaves piano method!
Evan, Ari, Brennan and Stephanie these greetings are meant for you!
Piano is tuned!
A special thank you to Hetty Weinstein for her recommendation of an amazing piano tuner! I have been waiting to tune my piano in preparation for our recital this week and Prospero Rodriguez did a spectacular job on my Steinway! Very grateful! 💕🎹
Sonatina in C Opus 36 No.3, Pt.2 by Muzio Clementi Occupational Octaves
Please enjoy this beautiful Clementi Sonatina played by Stephanie. She is now on Book 6 of Occupational Octaves and the pieces are getting more challenging. Listen how well Stephanie keeps on going even after making one very minor mistake! This is a huge sign of growth. So often when students make mistakes they immediately want to start over from the beginning. A true professional keeps on going. We will revisit this piece in a few weeks and record it again.
Thank you Stephanie for your willingness to let us hear this piece as a work in progress! 💕🎹🎶

Hope this will inspire everyone to keep practicing! Thank you Meera for a job well done!
“The Black Dot Waves”
The pentatonic scale is so beautiful! Enjoy this piece played by Stephanie and let us know how “The Black Dot Waves” made you feel!

Here Comes The Sun
We are back! So great to be working with Lance this morning on “Here Comes The Sun!” This is an intermediate piano piece arranged by Chrissy Ricker and as you can see and hear he is doing a fine job picking this up! Will post more videos as his progress continues!
Maple Leaf Rag
Only two weeks in and Stephanie is excited to share her progress on “ Maple Leaf Rag” by Scott Joplin. This is from Book 5 of Occupational Octaves!

The Dynamics Detective
How can we help students understand dynamic markings in their music? Come join Melody as she gives us a description of the dynamic markings in Faber & Faber’s
“The Campbells Are Coming” in Level 3A! She certainly is a
“Dynamics Detective!”
Greensleeves with a little music theory added in!
Today Stephanie and I explored both broken chords and blocked chords within the Occupational Octaves book #5! We had fun working on this and wanted to share it with you!

New World Symphony
So excited to share this beautiful piece this morning! This is my piano student Ian from ICON - the Inclusive Conservatory Of Naples. We have been working on dynamics. Let us know if you can hear a difference between piano and mezzo forte! Please drop us a comment. It will be greatly appreciated! 🎹🎶💕
Snowfall by Nancy Faber
Apparently there was an unexpected bit of snow after all the students got to school today in metro Detroit! Enjoy Meera playing her new piece called “Snowfall” by Nancy Faber in the Piano Adventures lesson book 3B! Listen closely and close your eyes....you can just picture those beautiful snowflakes falling! Bravo Meera! 🎶🎹💕
Canoeing In The Moonlight Faber & Faber Level 2B
What a great lesson we had this afternoon! Playing in 3/4 time after lots of instruction in 4/4 is sometimes very confusing. Lily was initially holding on to the third beat a bit too long but as she demonstrates here she is now truly playing in 3/4 time. This is a work in progress and I am very proud of her hard work this afternoon! Bravo! 💕🎹🎶
A special collaboration today! We are working on increasing the speed of Stephanie’s left hand! We are sharing the Occupational Octaves arrangement of “Greensleeves! “
