Jericho Leather Company is a husband and wife team with a common dream and desire to make things from leather. I remember when the only thing I knew about leather was that it smelled good. Well, time has passed and I can now look back and smile about my lack of knowledge when I began working in the leather industry. Experience in both the wholesale and retail aspects has allowed me to gain key ins
ight into the how, when, where, and why of the leather world. I even managed a leather store for a while where we taught leather working classes to various individuals and groups ranging from Cub Scouts and church groups to bikers and World War II Vets. My wife’s creative side stems from visits to the local sewing store with her Grandmother who introduced her to the joys of sewing. She also spent time as a child in her father’s machine shop, where she learned much about tolerance and precision, and why it’s so important to measure twice and cut once. Her desire to be creative continued and grew into a love of sewing, quilting, needle point, etc...
If we had to break down all the information, advice, and instruction received from the many accomplished leather workers and craftsmen we have met, it would be to keep it simple. That is why we at Jericho Leather Co. are always looking to simplify our designs. We do not spend our time attempting to put a fancy polished or rubber coated edge on our products. We simply cut it straight and let the leather come together as it will. We hand stitch, cut, dye, etc... every item we produce. No electricity. Real leather. Real Simple. Really well done. We have both been blessed with the ability and opportunity to work with our hands and hope we can create something special for you and yours.
