The Parade of Flags starts at noon and afterward we’ll have in the French Garden some music, food by Fluffy Duck, “Cleveland is my Paris” souvenirs, and plenty of space for a Sunday picnic !!! A great day to visit the French Gardens and dozens of other gardens in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation on Martin Luther King Boulevard…which will be closed to traffic for the day.

Amazing!! I wrote a blog post about the Detroit-Superior Bridge back in 2013:
"Empty and unused since the 1950s, the bridge’s lower deck (a former streetcar line) positions you a hundred feet above the Cuyahoga River and provides unbelievable views of the city. Why then is it only open once or twice a year? Imagine a glassed-in walkway spanning half a mile in the sky. A pedestrian and bike friendly zone sheltered from the elements. A venue for the arts, music, food… This is the lifeline between Downtown and the burgeoning near Westside. To leave it undeveloped is a crime we’ve grown too used to."
