Amazing!! I wrote a blog post about the Detroit-Superior Bridge back in 2013:
"Empty and unused since the 1950s, the bridge’s lower deck (a former streetcar line) positions you a hundred feet above the Cuyahoga River and provides unbelievable views of the city. Why then is it only open once or twice a year? Imagine a glassed-in walkway spanning half a mile in the sky. A pedestrian and bike friendly zone sheltered from the elements. A venue for the arts, music, food… This is the lifeline between Downtown and the burgeoning near Westside. To leave it undeveloped is a crime we’ve grown too used to."

Thank you for providing this opportunity for community engagement. I can't say how happy I am that there are real plans to develop the lakefront downtown! I would like to suggest something that I didn't see in the preliminary drawings: a beach at Voinovich Park.
My friends and I enjoy playing volleyball on the courts next to Nuevo restaurant and noticed last summer that the concrete walkway next to the lake seems to be underutilized. Extending the sand to create a "beach" there might be a unique way to reimagine the space and attract people downtown. A relaxing place to catch some sun and enjoy the lake view prior to the Browns stadium area redesign. It would also be a simpler and less costly development. Access to the water wouldn't be necessary, all the beach would require is sand, sun chairs and Voila!
Paris has a similar concept along the Seine. As does Toronto wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_beach
I look forward to seeing Cleveland take full advantage of the lakefront in the years to come!

BIBB: The city is a business, you have to grow. We have to grow our economy. We have to grow jobs. We have to grow our population. And you can't do that by sitting on the sidelines doing business as usual.

On Public Square:
Public Square has so much untapped potential as a front door...hopefully by the end of the year we'll see an end to the Jersey barriers in Cleveland.
