Strategy #1 - NUTRITION - the fuel you put in your body

You wouldn't put dodgy fuel in a prestige car and expect it to perform to it's optimum. It's the same with our bodies.

Most of us know what to do here, so recapping on a few key points:

* Eating a wide variety of fresh fruit & vege's. Study shows this may be associated with emotional flourishing, creativity & curiosity
* Staying well hydrated
* Eating food as close as possible to it's natural state-
decreasing the consumption of processed foods.
* Consider eating probiotic rich foods such as sauerkraut or kimchi and drinking kombucha or a probiotic supplement for gut health
* Minimising sugar & caffeine intake
* Eating foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids to enhance activity of the Vagus Nerve (the bodies rest & digest system)
* Zinc is an essential mineral for mental health so consuming foods rich in zinc- dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds, garlic, sesame seeds, chickpeas, oysters

Make conscious food choices and eat mindfully- slowly savouring each mouthful.

To assist our Emergency Services Personnel with their muscle pain and discomfort during the recovery effort following TC Debbie we are offering free 30 minute EMMETT Technique treatments. This is our way of saying ‘Thank-you’ for all you are doing for our community.

The EMMETT Technique is an amazingly gentle, safe and simple to apply muscle release therapy. It involves the application of light pressure at specific points. It is used to address pain and discomfort, improve body movement, aid relaxation and improve the quality of life.

We are offering 20 free treatments per week for the month of April.

This Thursday at Salt Therapy NQ we are sharing one of my favourite styles of meditation - Japa Meditation with Mala Beads. This style of meditation is great for both the experienced meditator and those that have been hesitant to try meditation. It gives your body something to do and helps soothe the mind while raising self awareness.

Our world with all the change and turmoil is in need of love and kindness more than ever before.

This week we are sharing a Loving Kindness Meditation and focussing on we how we can part of the solution.

Most of us want the same things in life- to feel loved, happy, healthy, valued and peaceful. This meditation guides us to soften the mind and open the heart to deeper levels of love and kindness for ourselves and then ripple it out into the world. We conclude the evening with Reiki for those that would like it.
