Bring a bike when you come to the Cape. Not only does the Cape have a wonderful bike trail that runs from the start of the Cape to the state park (just outside the gates to Barrier Dunes) but a ride on the beach is always awesome. This scene is from inside the state park which you can ride (or walk to) from Barrier Dunes.

Cape San Blas: Turtle Nesting Season www.TheCapeEscape.com
This is a Leatherback Turtle laying her eggs on Cape San Blas. Loggerhead nests are more common on the Cape but we welcome all turtles. The loggerhead nests will start hatching in 8-10 weeks and the leatherback eggs in 10-12. I hope everyone gets to witness this 1 day! Come back in the late summer and fall for a chance to see the nests hatch!
