In celebration of Walt Disney’s birthday tomorrow, the "Walt the Dreamer" statue will be revealed for everyone to enjoy. You will find this statue in Dreamers Point in the newly-opened World Celebration neighborhood. You can take a seat next to him and dream along with him. "If you can dream it, you can do it."

Sea Turtle rescue education and beach clean up this morning. Learned a great deal on all that is being done for these animals. Please make sure you recycle- we found trash on the beach from other countries, brought to Costa Rica by the same tides that bring the turtles. Only 1% of sea turtles survive to adulthood. Just by picking up and disposing your trash on the beaches will make a difference!

Day 6: Monteverde

Today we had to pivot the plan....an electrical pole fell across the road making it impossible for us to visit the Monteverde Institute to assist with reforestation efforts and enjoy the hanging bridges in the Cloud Forest. Did we have to worry about it???

No! Our guide, Fico, took care of creating a new plan and away we went.

We began at a different institue and saw what they are doing to encourage the planting of new trees in the forest.

Day 5: Monteverde

We began the day with a private boat ride across beautiful Lake Arenal. After a crazy drive through the Rain Forest, we went to visit a family-run coffee farm, Don Juan Coffee Plantation, where we took a tour of their coffee, cacao, and sugarcane plantation. The coffee was so good and I never knew that I have my nemesis-the mosquito-to thank for one of my favorite drinks!

Day 4: Arenal Volcano National Park

This whole day has been really cool! From observing the sloth at our resort to heading out and exploring the beautiful Arenal Volcano National Park....it's been pretty amazing. We went on a naturalist-led hike here where we learned about many different plant species and the lava field that this volcano has left.

Day 3: Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge

We set out on a full-day excursion today to one of the world’s great wetlands, Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge. This area stretches along the border with Nicaragua and is a birder’s paradise. We cruised the waterways in a covered boat and enjoyed seeing so many different forms of wildlife. Howler monkeys, Spider Monkeys, Sloths and many different types of iguanas. My favorite was the Jesus Christ lizard. He got his name by having the ability to walk or rather run on water. That was cool! Wish I had video, but he was so fast!

Day 2: Sarapiquí / Arenal Volcano

We traveled into the lowland tropical forests of Sarapiquí to La Selva Biological Station & Reserve. This is home to 470 recorded bird species, 125 mammal species, and so much more. We took a naturalist-led hike and found some cute but deadly poisonous dart frogs and a few eyelash vipers. The plants and trees were amazing!

Day 1: We arrived in San José, Costa Rica last night and enjoyed a night stay at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen. We will be waiting for others to join us and enjoy a welcome reception and dinner tonight.

Walt Disney World is hosting a flyover over both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration team. The Thunderbird’s flight path will take them over Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth. The demonstration is expected to begin at 10:30 a.m. (weather dependent) and will last approximately 5 minutes.

Disney After Hours events are returning to Walt Disney World Resort with plenty of late-night delights starting Jan. 10 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Jan. 11 at Magic Kingdom and Feb. 2 at EPCOT.

🤩extra time in the parks after closing
🤩lower wait times for attractions
🤩three hours – after hours – to ride your favorite attractions, see beloved characters and refuel on unlimited, complimentary snacks!

Event times at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Event times at Magic Kingdom Park and at EPCOT are from 10 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
