Here is a preview of our recent job. I will post more pictures later. These are pictures of thier living room where we removed carpet and installed new 3&1/4x3/4 red oak. We stained it Early American and finished it in satin. And a special thank you to this customer for his service in the military for our country and our freedoms! Thank you!

This is the hardest thing to do. Prefinished wood has its own stain combinations and goes through a process in a factory to make it. So when we have to sand only part of a house, we have to match the color as close as possible. On this job we used 2 parts red mahogany, and 1 part espresso, and finished it in satin. I think we got it pretty close. I forgot to get before pics, I am sorry. I will label the pic that shows what we didn't refinish up against what we did.
While I have your ear, I want to announce that we do have openings for new jobs sooner than you think. Give us a call or message me for a free estimate. Thank you!

It was such a pleasure to work with Mr. & Mrs. Hubbard of Chatom, Al. This pine was cut off thier property and milled by Howard's Custom Lumber. They picked a great stain color. A little dark but still light enough to see the beautiful grains of the pine. Provincial stain and finished in satin. I forgot to get pictures before we tore out the carpet, so the before is just the plywood subfloor. Lol. Thank you!

Not many floors are more beautiful than natural old pine. This was at a church in Grove Hill. It was just one room, but we were happy to do it. We finished it natural with semi-gloss finish. We didn't get any before pictures. I'm sorry for that. The finish is still wet in photos. Thank you!

Just about everyone knows I've been doing floors for 28years. Still, every now and then I do a type of flooring I've never done before. This was the case with this beautiful American Walnut. It was installed prefinished from the manufacturer, and they made the wood light. I don't know how, because we refinished it natural and it turned dark just like old pine does. The home owner was happy with it and it was still beautiful. The previous owner did I don't know what to the oak stairs. They stained them with something dark and looked smeared on. We fixed that also. I sanded, and sanded to get that stuff off and refinished them with espresso stain. It still matched the walnut, but now you could see the wood grains. All of it was finished in satin. The finish is still wet and shiny in some pics, and some pics were before the last coat. I will label what's what. I know its alot of pics. The whole job took about 2 and a half weeks to do. Thank you for your time!

Sometimes we get into a little more work than we expect to on a job. This was one, for sure. We have removed wax from St. Joe split bricks before, but this one was different. Found out the story. When they were installed, many, many years ago, they were coated with mothain. But then the home owner started waxing it. Paste wax for many years, then another kind of wax, then some coats of polyurethane. So, it was a process to remove everything. Nothing cut all of it, so we had to go layer by layer. 3 different chemicals all together, in the right order. First layer was the hardest. We used mothain thinner to raise the poly, then hands and knees with razor scrapers to remove it. Then we could proceed with the other layers and other chemicals to get as much as possible off so we could put new finish on and it look really good again. The home owner was so happy! She could see the bricks once again! Captions under pictures. Thank you.

We love to refinish a floor natural. It takes out dark, wore spots, and just makes the wood look clean, and the grains of the wood shows more. The after pics were taken when the finish was still wet. It will dry to satin. Thank you to this home owner. It was a pleasure to work with you. Thank you to my viewers!

One more coat of finish tomorrow and we will be done with the McIntosh church! It's been a job! They pulled up carpet that was glued on top of the wood!

We are very proud of this job, and my customer was very proud to see the carpet gone off her staircase. The wood downstairs was a prefinished wood. We always have to ck glue down prefinished wood to make sure it has a thick enough topping to sand, and hers had plenty. Prefinished wood is very mono-toned, meaning not much color variation and the grain doesn't show much. She wanted the wood a shade darker, so she picked fruit wood stain, and a gloss finish. We got the stair treads, sanded, stained, installed and finished. We got the risers, painted, and installed. We installed new wood on the upstairs landing and the turn landing and stained it to match. This was a job, but it was worth it when she said how happy she was with it! Thank you! 😊

I have new before and after pics of a wood floor, but before I share, I want to remind everyone we still do tile floors and vinyl planks. Ok, this is in Thomasville, Al. An old oak floor, one room was prefinished oak and the kitchen was old pine. We sanded and owner went natural with a satin finish. It's a classic for good reason. It's beautiful! Thank you!

I want to share with you a recent sanding job. The living room of this house had serious issues. Some of the wood had bowed up so badly that to fix it some of the boards had to be removed completely. When we sand a floor, well, it's a process. Things have to be done in a certain order. I won't go into all of it right now because it's alot. Most of the time we do the edges first, but it can be done after what we call "the rough cut". That order doesn't matter as long as the edges are done before what we call "the fine cut". The repair section blended in and now the customer won't trip over it anymore.
We refinished his living room, sunroom, hall, 1 bedroom and the dining room. After that we removed the carpet from his master bedroom and installed new wood. For cost and looks, we recommend #1 common red oak. There are other grades to choose from, so I discuss with the customer what wood will give them the look they want. Ok, picture time! Finally huh. 😆. These pics are before the wood is buffed to remove any grain that pulled, and the last coat of finish is applied. He went natural with satin finish. Thank you!

This split brick floor was a little different in Thomasville, Al. First, it had way more yellow bricks than we usually get. Second, they went with ultra dark mortar (my favorite), instead of white. And it was done with a satin finish. It turned out very nice! Thank you!

We worked on this house 3 or 4 years ago. At that time we sanded and finished the living room, dining room, and 2 hallways. Well the house was sold and the new owners ask us to come back and do the bedrooms. Maybe you remember? It was the job that the old wax on the floor gummed up 24 grit paper. So we knew how hard the bedrooms would be to sand. Thank you! Stained Espresso with satin finish. Pics taken before last coat of finish.

I always wanted to do a floor like this. A repeat customer finally gave us the opportunity! The wood has to be special milled to lay it in a herringbone on a 45. It wasn't easy at first, but we figured it out. 😆. Then we had to stain it to match the living room, we refinished recently. It wasn't easy either to get the right stain mix because the living room is a different species of wood. But we figured it out too. 😆. Below is before, during, and after pics. Thank you! Oh, I took the after pics before we were actually finished. Some spots might look a little rough, because we still had to buff with steel wool, and put the last coat of finish on.
