A Voice seeks to develop the potential of people through all aspects of Voice whether singing, speaking or enabling people to have a voice.

The idea of A Voice came from Diane Petherick-Holt’s training and experience not only in performance in both acting, singing and presenting, but from 15 years of working alongside many marginalised and disadvantaged people in the local community and understanding that many people have no voice in society. Diane seeks to support and develop the potential of people through all aspects of Voice wheth

er singing, speaking or enabling people to have a voice – whatever that may look like. Whether you are interested in developing your capacity as a singer, building your confidence in presentation and vocal ability in speech or overcoming nerves and building confidence, then A Voice will be able to help you. Diane can also offer facilitation skills in working with community or church groups using the medium of voice or to enable people to have a voice. Projects include community choirs and enabling people to tell their story or relate their experience through a number of creative mediums and providing opportunities for those experiences to be heard.

To join on zoom or Facebook live PM me with your email address TO REGISTER so I can send you the words for the songs - mostly songs from the Ards Voice Choir repertoire.

Raising money to enable some of the most marginalised young people in Nairobi to start small businesses. Young people in the past who have fallen into prostitution. Plans are for a car wash, shoe store, raising chickens, goats and pigs, hairdressing salon and beauty store, Mukokoteni - which is for the transport of goods. These young people have been encouraged to dream. This will enable them to build a sustainable livelihood.

Our last Virtual Choir with Ards Voice members for a month. We've been meeting in zoom and Facebook live for a whole year now. We bit of a 70's ABBA theme last night as we sing Thank you for the Music at the end of each session. Can't wait to be back hearing the harmonies and seeing all the smiling faces in person.

Thanks to Lorraine for videoing this at last week's practise Ards Voice. Singing for "Bright Monday" and promoting positive mental health. Don't forget next week - 30th January is Ards Voice late Christmas Celebration / 5th birthday party at Roma's at 7.30pm followed by singing!! Let Don know your menu choices tonight. It's £12 for two courses. Or come at 8.30pm for the singing and craic if you don't want to eat!
