Our driver didn’t play around when it came to the male elephants. The minute this guy started coming toward us, Justice said, nope and drove away. Lol 😂
Our final morning game drive in Africa was such a treat. Not only did we get to walk with the lions, but we also witnessed several hyenas having their breakfast. Listen the him breaking those bones. Wow!!
Walking with the lions. It doesn’t get any better! Thank you Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps for an amazing African safari!
On our final day in Africa, the giraffes met us at sunrise to bid us farewell. Our flight was scheduled around 10am, so we had plenty of time for a morning drive and bush breakfast, which proved to be a very successful morning (more to come).
Gross alert! Don’t read or watch if you don’t want to hear or see the circle of life in Africa.
Our morning drive with Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps was very interesting. We came across lots of vultures and then noticed a hyena and a jackal in the midst of them. We knew immediately that they were feeding on something.
It turned out to be a baby giraffe. 🥺 Our guide, Justice, told us that giraffe mommas are not usually very good mommas. They tend to stray too far from their babies. While this was a sad situation, it is the circle of life.
A little tribute video to our time in Amboseli National Park.

Don’t worry, you didn’t somehow get on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. You’re still hanging with That Texas Couple. We are just out here living a dream thanks to Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps and their amazing guides!
Day two at Amboseli National Park started with a visit from the gentle giants that are so prevalent in the park. I was amazed at how little sound they made to be such large creatures.
Amboseli is one of the best place in Kenya and East Africa for African elephant viewing. The park is home to over 1600 that are allowed to freely roam its 392 square kilometers of protected land. It’s also here that you can view the longest elephants and the longest elephant tusks.
