I’m so grateful for the opportunity to revisit my favorite kingdom after a three-year hiatus… it is more captivating than ever! How does one small country have so many incredible people, places, and stories to share? Who’s coming on my next trip with ? 🙋🏻‍♀️🇯🇴🐫

Coming back from this social media break to let you know that Stockholm is the most aesthetically beautiful European capital I’ve ever seen. The storybook feeling of Prague, the imperial imprint of London, the craft and maker culture of Lisbon, the cafe culture of Vienna, and 70 world-class museums, not to mention the water and access to nature! What an amazing city to explore! Have you been?

Did you know that some of the best-preserved Greek ruins are not in Greece, and the most well-preserved Roman ruins are not in Rome?

If it’s ancient history that you want to feel connected to, I recommend the outer reaches of the empires. Greece had several colonies in the central Mediterranean, including this one at Agrigento on the island of Sicily. Greek influence persisted in Southern Italy for centuries, with some tiny villages still speaking a Greek-derived language even today.

These magnificent temple ruins are said to date from the 5th century BCE and this is just one of several archeological sites at Agrigento. The park stays open late during the warmer months offering an incredible opportunity to see these enormous structures without the crowds.

Name that European city! Bonus points if you can name the building whose roof we are seeing! 😉

Europe is looking more promising each day as a destination for American travelers. Although this country hasn’t yet made an announcement, there are more opportunities now than we’ve seen in 15 months... as long as you are flexible and don’t mind extra travel hurdles!

Slowly the world is opening, and we’re here to encourage you to explore... slowly. As we seek more meaning in our travel experiences, the trend is toward longer experiences in one place. Italy is a place that is perfect for slow and immersive travel. Piano, piano (slowly, slowly!) as the Italians say!

This is not a stock photo, but one captured on a hike in an area of Tuscany not often visited by Americans. On the trail, you’ll pass by small waterfalls and forest alters to various saints before you arrive in the medieval town of Barga in the distance, shrouded by ethereal clouds.

Don’t you just love Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy?! Do you want to spend your next vacay discovering the awe-inspiring sites and off-the-beaten-path villages that make Italy unique?🤩

Once Italy opens to Americans, I’ll be leading a few different small group travel experiences - some designed for those who have been to Italy before, and others for first-timers. 🇮🇹 If you prefer your own special itinerary Curated by Cath, get in touch ASAP! I’m only taking on a limited number of trips for 2021 since travel planning requires more time and attention to detail than ever before.🌟

Photo: A hidden gem in Sicily - a quaint boutique hotel that was once an outpost of the Knights of St. John (known to us as the Knights of Malta), and before that, a private estate with construction dating to the 12th century C.E. (nbd 🤯) The property has been in the family of the current owners for nearly three centuries!

This year without travel has given me so many opportunities to reflect with gratitude on all of the experiences I’ve helped travelers bring to life! I’m looking forward to a future where we are all more fully-present when we travel. What a joy it will be to again connect with people on the other side of the world!

Planning Australia one or even two years in advance is a great idea! 💡 Is getting there on your bucket list?
