NYC Walks and Talks A place for listing walking tours and lectures in and about New York City. Some require pre-registration. Read the description of the event carefully.

This page is for listing events for local history buffs - those who want to learn more about our City - either on foot or through slide show/lecture. There are many organizations that offer walks and talks led by docents and experts - some free, some for nominal cost ($20 or under). Posted events are open to the public and run by public organizations and licensed tour guides. You will sometimes ne

ed to registered beforehand on an organization website or pay in advance to guarantee a spot. This page is an offshoot of the NYC Walks and Talks meetup group in that listings are not posted by an organizer. Anyone can post a walk or talk as long as it meets the following criteria: Walks are led by Licensed Tour Guides and take place within the five boroughs. Cost is moderate, preferably less than $30 a head. Talks pertain to aspects of New York City life or history. Organizations such as historical societies are welcome to post. Any required payments are made directly to the organization sponsoring the event. Have fun and enjoy the events! Linda Fisher
