To all who still follows this page..move to Monara's page to keep up with the news. This news is worth to be seen here, and will probably be the last post.
It is time that I introduce myself to all of you. Finally we have a website were you can see who is behind Monara's rebuilt. You can also see our current project...much more to come soon.. Hope you like it www.kvdhyacht.com

Dear dedicated followers, It is quite a hassle to rename a page, or to merge two pages together. Gave it up...
As Olympia is now renamed back to her original name: "Monara",
I Decided to keep this Feadship Olympia page online, but to start a new one for Monara.
The new page will show her finished, and of course the coming adventures she will endeavor in the future.

Proud of my name, it feels so familiar..

Home after 46 years… Launched in 1969 as Monara, her current owners intended to restore Olympia to her original name and condition in a comprehensive project inspired by her sister-ship Din-Dina III (now Sultana). Friday was the christening.

It finally happened yesterday !!!
We said goodbye to Feadship Olympia…and celebrated the return of Feadship Monara !!,
the name she carried when she was launched in 1969 at the Feadship Royal De Vries yard in Aalsmeer.
It was a great event; that we celebrated with the men and women who rebuild her, the owners, their family and special guests and friends.
It was the first time that we could admire her without protection or scaffolding around her.
Also a first was that she was carried gently by the overhead cranes in the shed, into the dock of the Royal De Vries shipyard in Makkum.
We would like to thank all people who worked hard to make her rebirth possible..
Now starts the finishing touch, starting up her systems, testing..seatrials...and of course fill up the fridges !!!

The men from Butterworths plating in Ramsgate UK at work on Olympia's juwelry...better then new !! These guys are magicians with chroming..and any type of metal plating, even silver. So happy to have found them !!

It's almost time....
Feadship Olympia will soon need a love and caring crew....
Like we have on Feadship Sultana with Veli and Karolina. We found that it is easier to clone a Feadship then to clone crew..
So, please share this to someone who you think would be a good candidate(s).

We are offering a full time job for a couple Captain/engineer and Cook/stewardess.
Also only female or male couples welcome off course.
The yacht will charter western Med, and will be based Monaco/France.
This old classic yacht has been rebuild by Feadship and is in immaculate new condition.
Equipped with all 2015 technical systems, except for the main engines. (twin 8 cil gardners that have been completely rebuild and at some points modernized )
4 double guest cabins and 2 double crew cabins. (one crew has a bed that can be extended to a double bed)
In case of extended cruises or when needed a third and/or fourth crew member would be temporary added.

The job will start in The Netherlands, and after delivery we will have extensive sea trials in the Holland and Northern Europe before going to the Med at the end of the season.

Requirements:

Captain with engineering skills, non smoker, experience with charter.
languages: English required, French/Dutch/Italian optional, but highly appreciated.
Western Med knowledge cruising experience preferred.
200 tons license.

Cook/stewardess (Steward) deckhand.
languages: English required, French optional, but highly appreciated.
Experience with silver service and cooking.

Assembly of the custom build power take off shaft for the 570 amps alternators and seawater pumps by the brothers Willem and Karel Prins. These will power the entire electric supply from the Gardner engines while underway.
