CLIENT REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"UK is the BEST you could possibly ask for in a guide company! My husband and I summited Kili in October of 2023. 5 day Rongai Route, private. Richard and Tuma were our guides.

From the moment we contacted Shaun in the states to the very end of the trek, UK was incredible. Great communication and assistance. I never worried or wondered about any aspect of the trip; the information was always readily available.

As for the trek itself, you couldn't ask for a better company to go with. Our guides were fun, knowledgable and consummate professionals. On summit night, I briefly became ill (cough, freezing). Richard and Tuma were right by my side, helping with everything possible. They also were assessing my overall state and whether or not we could continue safely. Fortunately, all was good and the hiccup only a minor setback. I felt very comfortable knowing that we were not going to continue if my health was on the line and trusted them completely! And, we made it!

The other parts of the trek: the water, the food, the tent/sleeping bags, even the toilet tent (!), were equally as amazing and made it easy to enjoy every aspect of this fabulous experience. The chef, Reggie, and all of the porters were some of the kindest and happiest people I've ever met; they baked us a cake to celebrate our summit!!! Even the fact that the hotel (Stella Maris) that UK used funds a school for orphans made the trip that much more special.

I can't recommend UK enough! They're a fantastic company to work with!"

Climb High, Sleep Low.🏔️

Our recommended routes, like Lemosho and Northern Circuit, involve steep climbs and descents. It may seem daunting, these movements actually aid acclimatization, outweighing the energy expended. Climbing to higher elevations conditions your body, while sleeping lower aids recovery.

Tips for Rainy Season Kilimanjaro Treks 🌧️

1. Opt for the northern routes like Rongai or Marangu, which receive less rain. Marangu also offers hut accommodations.
2. Consider climbing during shoulder seasons for better weather.
3. Equip yourself with quality rain gear: waterproof jacket, pants, and boots are a must.
4. Protect your day pack and duffel with covers or plastic bags.
5. Store everything inside your pack in ziplock bags or waterproof stuff sacks.
