Holi is one of the most vibrant festivals of India – a day of joy, colours and laughter. Colours play a central role in the celebration of Holi, giving it the nickname of “the festival of colours.” People use powdered colours (gulaal) and water-based colours to play Holi. Traditionally, the colours used during Holi were made from natural ingredients such as flowers, herbs, and plant extracts, but synthetic colours have become more popular these days because of their affordability.

Holi is a time for meeting friends and family to celebrate together. This springtime Hindu festival brings people together to share in the joy and merriment of new beginnings. People not only play with Holi colours, they also eat traditional sweets like gujiya to celebrate this festival.

Republic Day is the day when the Republic of India marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950. This replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India, thus turning the nation from a dominion into a republic separate from British Raj. The constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect on 26 January 1950. 26 January was chosen as the date for Republic Day as it was on the date of 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress.

As you all know that various National interest initiatives have been launched by the Government of India, " *"मेरी माटी मेरा देश "and " Swachh Bharat Abhiyan* was started by the Government of India on 2nd October, 2014, and Launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bharat with the objective to promote cleanliness in the country. To ensure the continuity of this objective and to motivate the natives living around Doon Public School Rampur Chungi Roorkee, Doon school has also launched a *Swachh Bharat Campaign* near Rampur Chungi on 1st October, 2023. In this campaign the staff of Doon Public School took active participation in the cleanliness drive near Rampur Chungi. This programme was a great success.

Today is International Mother's Day.Every year second Sunday of May is celebrated as International Mother's Day. Mother’s Day is a great time to show your love and gratitude to your mother.The celebration of Mother's Day is one of the most popular occasions, especially for children. They celebrate their mother's love on this day. A mother is the emblem of love and she displays all the affection she has for her children selflessly. She sacrifices all her needs without the intention of getting anything in return and wants just to get the needs of her children met. Without the presence of a mother, it would not have been possible to have our own life.
According to Leonardo DiCaprio, "My mother is a walking miracle." This statement is very accurate. The birth of a mother occurs long before the birth of a child. Her time is not only spent in growing her child, but also educating him and helping him to become a productive citizen of this nation. Mothers spend their lives in fulfilling the dreams of their children by giving up their own dreams. It is through her music that a child and a family can be filled with colors and melody.
The Bible says that God cannot be everywhere, and so he created mothers on Earth. In addition to being a symbol of love, mothers are also fierce warriors. In order to make her child happy, she must overcome all obstacles. Anyone who has ever been born has been taught by her, had a friend, guide, philosopher, and even had a psychologist.The word mother is indeed small but the feelings and importance are very big. We can never repay a mother for the sacrifices she makes, and it is impossible to do so in a lifetime. Interestingly, mothers are constant sources of energy and positivity for every child, and we should feel fortunate to be able to count on them as a source of support, forever.

लगातार बढ़ती हुई सड़क दुर्घटनाओं को देखते हुए रूड़की ट्रैफ़िक पुलिस के अधिकारी दून पब्लिक स्कूल में बच्चों को महत्वपूर्ण यातायात नियमों के विषय में जानकारी देने और उनमें जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए आये। यह कार्यक्रम काफी सफल रहा।

We are bidding farewell to a year that gifted us our lives back. After two years of lockdown, we all resumed normalcy and the fun talking to each other face to face. It was fun to be around friends and family and back to office conversations. We could empathise with people who suffered a loss during the COVID period and it was deeply satisfying for us as well. As we progress into a new year, all we can wish for ourselves and our dear ones is good health, happiness and success.

We feel immense pleasure in informing you all that UNDER 19 FIRST INTER SCHOOL CRICKET 2022 TOURNAMENT was organised in Roorkee College Of Engineering.In this tournament 16 teams of different schools participated.Final match was played between Doon Public School and Anand Swaroop Saraswati Vidya Mandir on 6 December 2022.Doon School has won this match by 3 runs.Winning team has got cash prize of Rs 7100.It is really a proud moment for all of us.🏆🏆🏅🥉
