It’s that time again, downtown Houston! 🐦

We are proud to participate in Lights Out, Texas again this year! This initiative helps protect migrating birds by turning off all non-essential lights each night during their critical peak migration period from August 15 – November 30. To do our part, we will be turning off roof accent lights across our Houston portfolio from 11 pm – 6 am during this period.

How does this help? Most North American migratory birds fly at night and lights on buildings can disorient their paths, resulting in fatal collisions. The Houston-Galveston area plays a key role on the Central Flyway, an important migratory path for birds. By turning lights out each night, we can help ensure birds make safe passage through the Upper Texas Coast.

We encourage everyone to join our efforts through November 30 by turning off all non-essential lights in your space.

The Allen Center Food Court will be closed today, August 14th, for a maintenance repair. But don’t worry! You can still enjoy some delicious lunch from our friends at Uberrito, Oh My Gogi! BBQ, and Good Karma Bowls! You’ll find their food trucks parked outside the Two Allen Center circle drive (off of Polk) from 11 am – 1 pm. We hope to see you there!
