Star of the Seas - Coming to Central Florida in August 2025! So what are the differences from the Icon to the Star? We LOVE that it is sailing from Cental Florida!!

The main difference between Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas and Icon of the Seas is that Star of the Seas will debut "Back to the Future: The Musical" while Icon features "The Wizard of Oz". Additionally, Star of the Seas will have a Chicago-inspired supper club, the Lincoln Park Supper Club, whereas Icon features an Empire Supper Club.

Here's a more detailed look at other key differences:

Homeport:Icon of the Seas sails from Miami, while Star of the Seas will sail from Port Canaveral (Orlando).

Kids Programming:Star of the Seas will have more tactile entertainment options for kids in its clubs, such as ping pong and foosball.

Dining:While both ships have the AquaDome Market, the Star of the Seas version will be a test kitchen for new dishes, and the ship has a greater number of dining venues, potentially 68+, compared to the 40+ on Icon.

Chief Dog Officer:Both ships have a golden retriever mascot, but they are different pups with their own personalities.

Other Minor Differences:Some potential minor differences include an additional hot tub, more included restaurants, and potentially Jamies replacing Giovanni's on the Star.

Overall Similarities:Despite these differences, the ships are largely identical.

Just a friendly reminder that you will either need a Real ID or a Passport Book to fly domestically. Our suggestion and best bang for the buck is get a 10 year passport book.

Are you thinking about a real-id versus a passport? You may think, I don't need that passport. Did you know that the real-id is a subscription fee every four years plus an initial fee? Believe it or not, the real-id and a passport are the same price ($130) over a 10 year time span.

We personally recommend a passport over a real-id because of the price and you can now travel internationally. Let us know if we can send you information to obtain your passport today. It only takes about 2-5 weeks to get a passport at the current moment.

How is Chops on a Royal Caribbean Cruise? Would you pay extra for this upscale steakhouse? How about if we, Hope Travel, include it on your next cruise?

From our personal opinion, the food and service at Chops during our last Royal Caribbean Cruise on the Icon of the Seas was fantastic. No doubt in my mind is it worth the extra cost. Imagine a nice steak from your local upscale steakhouse along with all the fixings, an appetizer, and top notch dessert. The service that came along with it was absolutely amazing without a doubt and no need to ask for anything as it was there before you had to ask.

I had the beef capriccio, the ribeye steak, along with a chocolate lava cake for dessert. Others at the table had other flavors such as the filet, the lamb chops, and other dishes.

If you like steak, you can't go wrong at Chops. Ask us about our promotions when you call - we do offer a free speciality dining for 2 on select sailings.
