Impodimo Game Lodge is a beautiful 5 star game lodge located in the Madikwe Game Reserve, home to the Big 5 with the addition on wild dogs and cheetah.

Impodimo Game Lodge is situated in the Malaria Free Game Reserve called Madikwe. It is approximately 4 hours drive from JHB/PTA. The reserve has got the BIG 5 aswell as hundreds of other different animal and bird species. Visit Impodimo and experience something that you have never experienced before.

An African Wild Dog trying to listen for his pack while out hunting in the rain.

Sometimes, while out hunting, things get chaotic and members of the pack split up in pursuit of what they perceive the "easy" target is. When they fail they try and locate the rest of the pack members by sounds, either by a continual low hooping locations call, or the "chatter" and tsi-tsi-tsi calls of excitement while feasting on a successful hunt.

Lodge update!! We have had an incredible amount of rain. Over 200mm in 4 days which makes for interesting times out in the park 🛶 Some roads are not drivable anymore, but it's not all bad. Now, all of our dams are at maximum capacity, the watertable where we all draw water from for the lodge (borehols/wells) will be replenished in a few weeks once the water filters through the soil and rock bed. All the vegetation gets more then enough water for growth. In the long run, this is an amazing blessing. #waterislife #madikwegamereserve #naturesmasterpiece

These were the toughest few months yet! One of the driest seasons yet, with elephants refusing to leave camp. This past Winter made for interesting "commutes" between guest rooms and the main lodge. On any day we had about 80 elephants roaming through camp to eat from the "protected" trees between rooms and back-of-house. Any small job outside was always a 2 man job - 1 to do the job, the other to keep a look out for the big fellas. Needless to say, the vegetation in camp looks like a war zone, but it is slowly returning after some amazing rains. #rainisablessing #madikwegamereserve #update #naturesmasterpiece

While sitting in the hide we could hear the Blacksmith lapwing going crazy about something, but couldn't see what it was. A few seconds later this handsome fella came walking up the dam wall not paying the lapwing any attention.
