Lots of celebrations planned in Greece tomorrow!

Greek Oxi Day, celebrated on October 28, commemorates the day in 1940 when Greece famously rejected an ultimatum from Italian dictator Benito Mussolini during World War II. The term "Oxi" means "No" in Greek, symbolizing the nation's defiant spirit. When Italy demanded to occupy strategic areas in Greece or face war, the Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas responded with a resolute “Oxi,” leading to Greece’s entry into the war on the Allied side.

The bakeries in Greece are amazing as so is the coffee!

What coffee do you like (remember the Greeks will let their coffee last for a good hour) whilst catching up with their friends.

I once had an old gentleman bought me my coffee, that was very nice of him and I asked him why this kind gesture? He replied you wished me a good morning earlier when I passed you.

I love Greece!

Beautiful Greece fact!

Amazing aerial view!
The Corinth Canal, Greece 🇬🇷, is a marvel of man-made engineering.
This canal runs through the Isthmus of Corinth, connecting the Gulf of Corinth to the northwest with the Saronic Gulf to the southeast.
Before the canal was built, ships had to make a long journey around the Peloponnese peninsula, adding 320 kilometers to their journey.
Around 600 BC, Periander, founder of the Cypselide dynasty of Corinth, had the ingenious idea of transporting ships overland, using a kind of railway, the diolkos (parts of which can still be seen today), along which ships were pulled on wheeled carts across the isthmus.
This practice was used until about the 9th century, when ships outgrew the system.
In 1882, work began on the Corinth Canal, which was mostly done by hand and was completed 11 years later in 1893.
The canal walls rise to a height of over 80 meters, with a water depth of 8 meters and a length of just over 6 kilometers.
The canal is a popular tourist attraction; large ships are towed through the canal by small tugboats, a fascinating sight to behold.

Mykonos:
Yacht Cruise to Rhenia and Guided Tour of Delos
Reserve your experience here https://gyg.me/FRlYzio7
Visit the natural insular archaeological site of Delos and swim to a secluded cove off the uninhabited island of Rhenia on a yacht cruise accompanied by a licensed guide, with lunch and drinks.

Visit Rhenia and Delos islands in one day on this day trip from Mykonos with lunch and shuttle transfers included (if selected). Enjoy free time to swim, snorkel, and soak up the scenery on a yacht cruise. Then, visit the archaeological site of Delos with a licensed guide.
Start your sailing cruise experience with transportation from your hotel or a designated meeting point depending on the location of the accommodation. Be greeted by a cruise representative who will give you an overview of the cruise itinerary.

Receive an overview of the safety information by the crew, and set sail for Rhenia and Delos islands, the center of the Cyclades, located a few miles south-west of Mykonos. During the cruise, learn how to raise and trim the sails as well as to steer the yacht, weather permitting.
Admire the spectacular scenery and the remarkable blue Aegean waters along the way. Play the music of your choice on the onboard sound system. Relax on deck, sunbathe, and hear about local island history from the crew.

Arrive at the unspoiled island of Rhenia, separated from the sacred island of Delos by a small strait. Dropped anchor in the idyllic bay surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters and with gold sandy beach, indulge yourself in the refreshing sea for swimming and snorkeling by the yacht swimming ladder (pier facilities or tendering ashore are not available). Then, feast on a light lunch on board of specially made pasta with Greek flavored dressing and Greek Salad or a local Mediterranean style buffet and fresh local fruits, accompanied by house wine and soft drinks.

Next, drop anchor at UNESCO-listed Delos, and enjoy some time exploring the island with a guide. Explore a sanctuary filled with monuments, and impressive mosaics from the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. Walk up the 367-foot Mount Kynthos, to admire stunning views of the surrounding Cycladic islands, before sailing back to Mykonos.
