The Arctic Watch Beluga Foundation supports research programs across the Canada Arctic. One of the projects we support, muskox research by the Kutz Foundation, looks at the health of muskox populations on Somerset Island and Ellesmere. The project is looking at the movement of pathogens moving north with climate change, killing muskoxen and ways to mitigate the die-offs.
When used properly, drones are a great way to witness Mother Nature at work without disturbing the moment. #ArcticWatch guest Ben captured this moment perfectly - a polar bear chowing on a narwhal on the shores of the Northwest Passage. While we will never know if the bear caught the whale, or the whale washed up on shore first, this incredible display of nature is a very especial moment to observe. Thanks for sharing Ben! Being a mom is hard work. Particularly when you’re a #polarbear. Captured on film at our lodge #ArcticWatch yesterday by @mattcharland . #WeberArctic #TheArcticBeyond
We were tasked by returning guests to create the ultimate heliski expedition on a remote corner of Greenland. A circumpolar effort led by the team at Weber Arctic including a Norwegian ice yacht and crew, local Greenlandic expertise and more, we explored in epic style in places few have ever set foot. A massive team effort that resulted in a truly exceptional experience. #WeberArctic #WeberArcticPrivate #TheArcticBeyond 📸@mattcharland

A gorgeous #polarbear captured on film a short distance from #ArcticWatch last summer as he swam under summer ice and feasted on a #narwhal. Moments like these ensure the bear will survive the lean summer months. #WeberArctic 📸:@mattcharland
Discovered yesterday near #ArcticWatch on a custom journey, the #WeberArctic team had the opportunity to observe nearly 100 #walrus sun tanning on the Northwest Passage. #TheArcticBeyond #dji
