Ermioni Info This is the official Ermioni Tourist page, created by people who care and love this beautiful part of the Peloponnese, Greece.

Little is written about Ermioni in the guide books, yet it is a beautiful Greek coastal town, situated in the Argolida region of the Peloponnese, Greece. It is two and a half hours drive South-West of Athens International airport, and two hours by boat from the port of Piraeus. It is central to many places of historical and cultural interest. Ermioni can be split into three sections. The commercia

l Limania port is located on the Northern side, with the lively Mandrakia on the Southern side of the pennisula. At the far end of the town, at the Eastern point, is the pine-cladded wooded area called the Bisti. Here one can enjoy leisurely walks at any time of the day, as there is plenty of shade from the sun. Also, you can swim in the clear blue sea from the rocky coves along the southern side of the Bisti, which overlook the islands of Dokos and Hydra. The sea surrounds the town from three sides, giving the feel of being on an island, but without the possibility of being stranded in adverse weather conditions. Books refer to Ermioni as a seaside town of captivating beauty. This can be true as it still remains authentically Greek, charming, hospitable and friendly. For the visitor to Ermioni, there are numerous commercial amenities around the Limania port, banks, ATM machines, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, tourist office (for car-hire and boat tickets), real estate offices (for buying land or property in and around Ermioni), post office, taxis, buses to Kranidi and Kosta, assorted shops, supermarkets, beauty salons, hairdressers, barbers, internet cafes, nightclubs, cafes, bars and tavernas.

This little family that had to be taken immediately from the posh hotel in Porto Heli, have all been neutered and they look amazing. They were wild, but giving them plenty of TLC does help the situation. Two of the HOPE'S babies have already crossed he waters to better lives/adoptions and now HOPE and her remaining 3 babies will also follow shortly. A very happy ending that's for sure. 😻😻😻

A new vet by the name of Zoe in who is trying to change and is getting fustrated by the mentality of many of the Greek people. She appears to be very pleasant, but things cannot happen quickly enough. However a new law has been passed, which is ludicrous and is relevenat to the whole of Greece:

It will be forbidden to feed stray animals near schools, churches, port landing sites and municipal garbage areas, for health and safety reasons.

With this we have been asked to stop feeding at the main bin sites in Ermioni, but feeding can continue close by. New signs will soon be produced to inform stray animal feeders not to feed at these large municipality garbage sites, probably only in Greek. However, at the Bisti gang site, where there are three garbage bins, can feeding carry on??? It doesn't make sense at all, that's for sure.

It would appear that authorised feeding stations will be arranged by the municipality at certain points around Ermioni and Ermionida in general, but I don't trust any of this at all!!!!!! When and who will fill these feeding stations? Nothing changes and it will continue to be the same.

This little girl had to go back to the vets this morning, as her eye-stiches had snapped, exposing a wide cavern where her bad eye used to be. It was noticed that a couple of stiches snapped a few days ago, and with this she was taken back to the vets. Yorgos the vet in Kranidi felt that this wouldn't be a problem, and prescribed Augmentin for her. However, last night it was noticed that the remaining stiches were pulling apart, so the plan was to return Ochko this morning. So she will be at the vets until the the morning where she will be collected and taken home. Poor little girl but she will survive and make some sort of recovery. 😽😽😽🐾🐾🐾

MICKEY & JOEY, who were adopted in the UK. Mickey is still poorly but is on medication to keep the gum inflammation under control and pain management. 😿😿😿 He is due to start another three month treatment shortly that should help more with the calicivirus. It seems that this is a common situation with Greek Strays, but these 2 lucky boys were adopted by Julie and they will be given the best. Their vet knows it has worked on another cats with the virus but it’s not guaranteed to work on others. Therefore Julie moved onto another vet who appears to be more helpful, as the last vet in the UK said there was nothing that could be done apart from taking all Mickeys teeth out and the vet didn’t think that would work. With this, if this was the case, the qualitly of life and welfare would have to be considered. 😿😿😿 I know Julie and Steve will give these 2 boys the best, as they are huge animal lovers. 😽😽😽

From being threatened at NIKKI BEACH hotel at Porto Heli earlier this year, we rescued this family and took them to safety. They were wild which was understandable, but as time has moved on, Tapsy (black/white) & Pauli (red/white) flew across the waters a few weeks ago and have now been adopted and will enjoy a beautiful life. 😻😻😻 Hopefully later this month, HOPE and her remaining 3 babies will also cross the waters and will get adopted too and enjoy a wonderful life, away from the cruelty of some individuals. I love happy endings and even though animal rescue can be heartbreaking, it makes everything worthwhile, when there are happy endings like this one. 😽😽😽

Seond visit to the vet for Pumpkin. He got a couple more 'booster' jabs, as well as worm and flea treatments. Is he blind, as yet not 100% certain, because he seems to be finding his own way around home. He is going to be a fluffy boy and is so loving. 😽😽😽

This little boy from the BITSI gang here in Ermioni Greece, has definitely lost one eye. 😿😿😿 His other 'good' eye needs the eye medication, as you can see from these photos, as there is a minor 'milky-fog' on part of the eye.

We spoke to Yorgos the vet in Kranidi earlier this afternoon, and he stated that the collar should stay on for the full two weeks, until he returns to have his stiches removed. Not ideal for a stray, but it has to happen and then hopefully he will make a full recovery. 😽😽😽

NEDA is what she was called then . . . but 7 years on, just look at her today. ❤ She has an amazing life and is hugely loved by Tone Foyn, who adopted her. Tone had to wait four long months for her princess to arrive.❤️ She is her little happiness and is hugely grateful that she got the opportunity to take care and spoil this beautiful doggie with a life of luxuries and more. Sadly though the locals in Kyparissia had different ideas for this mother dog and her babies. THROW THEM INTO THE SEA they said, but the English tourist, Peter, who spotted them, did something different. He found my email and contacted me. I then found a lovely team of animal lovers in Kyparissia who helped me and were able to make everything possible, to which I am hugely grateful for. It is hard rescuing strays, but when you get amazing results, it makes everything so worthwhile. 🐾🐾🐾😽😽😽

NOW & THEN of the little ONE EYE BOY from the Bisti . . . he was brought home yesterday from the vet and is such a loving little one. He can't go back to his colony until after 14 days have passed, when he will have his stitches out. At the moment, he is safe and has to have eye drops twice a day. I wish I could find him a loving home, but it is like most of my Greek Strays, they all deserve loving homes, but that is not possible. For now, priority is for him to make a full recovery. Cats certainly do not like collars on. 😽🐾😽🐾

PUMPKIN . . . After his arrival the night before, the first morning I gave him a little bath, whereby he then started to wash himself. Mid morning, he was taken to the vet at Kranidi, to start treatment. He had his first injection, then vitamin injections, then eye treatment and will be going back in the next couple of days for more. Once home, he had his first meal and relaxing sleep. Is he blind? As yet, I think he still has partial vision, because he is not walking into things, but only time will tell. He is such a loveable baby and maybe he will have the opportunity of being re-homed. 😽😽😽

BLONDIE now and then . . . being a street cat, whereby she was very very close to death, has made super progress. She likes to stay on the ground downstairs. The highest she's been is on dining chair in the hallway. She is not out of danger and is still sick, but she likes rubs/strokes, but not comfortable being picked up. She will make it and one day, will get a clean bill of health. 😽😽😽

When MR SQUIGEY left this world, there was a gap. Sadly he was FIV positive and declined over a period of time, but he had a very healthy appetite until his last day. He was lovely and it is so sad seeing a rescued cat decline, especially when you have cared for them for quite some time. Rescued from the back streets of Ermioni, he had love, was safe and was a gentle boy. 😿😿😿
