With the 2024 concert season approaching, the Red Rocks team is working hard to complete several significant renovations to Morrison, Colorado’s iconic outdoor venue.

According to the Denver Post, a large portion of the venue’s Visitor’s Center is being completely redone, including the Ship Rock Grille restaurant–soon to feature an indoor-outdoor bar and outdoor dining space–the Rock Room rental area, various hallway photo galleries and the Theater room, which contains signed memorabilia, posters and other artifacts from Red Rocks’ rich history.

Crews are adding new light poles and sidewalks to Red Rocks’ Upper North, Upper South and Lower South 1 parking lots. The Lower South 1 lot will also feature a new set of stairs connecting the lot to the Trading Post and south venue entrance.

Several improvements are also being made to better comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), like adding new ADA parking spots and bathrooms, adjusting ramps, and making the Top Circle, an area reserved for disabled concertgoers, easier to navigate.

On show day, attendees will notice an all-new security protocol that utilizes the Evolve magnetometer system, replacing wands and bag searches upon entry to the venue. Other minor renovations include a new retaining wall and light poles in the plaza at the venue’s top.

Each of these improvements is part of Red Rocks’ phase one renovation plan, and is expected to be completed by mid-May. Another batch of phase two renovations will begin in the fall of 2024.

“There will still be a little bit of work after the season starts due to frozen-ground and asphalt issues, but we’re trying to pull all of this off in the next few weeks,” Red Rocks Venue Director Tad Bowman told the Denver Post. “It’s always a climb.”

Following a landmark 2023 in which it ranked as the world’s fourth best-attended music venue, Red Rocks will kick off its 2024 season with a performance from Boogie T on March 30, before Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH bring their MELLODEATH Tour to town on April 4.

Kaskade is the new in-game DJ for this Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII after Tïesto was forced to pull out following a “personal family emergency.”

Tïesto announced the news on his socials, writing, "Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning. It was a tough decision to miss the game, but family always comes first. Thank you to the NFL for the collaboration and looking forward to working with them to deliver something incredible together in the future!"

In his place, fellow superstar DJ Kaskade will now fill in as the "first in-game superstar DJ" to play the Super Bowl. He will spin during player warm-ups and stay on the decks to play music during game breaks, with portions of his performance to appear during the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast.

UPDATE 9/3/23, 10:50 a.m. : This morning, Burning Man coordinators released a statement advising event participants of the following:

“As of 9 am Sunday, the roads remain too wet and muddy to officially open them for Exodus. There is also an uncertain weather front approaching Black Rock City.

Some vehicles with 4WD and all-terrain tires are able to navigate the mud and are successfully leaving. But we are seeing most other types of vehicles that try to depart getting stuck in the wet mud which hampers everyone’s Exodus.

Please do NOT drive at this time. Road conditions differ based on the neighborhood. We will update you on the driving ban after this weather front has left the area.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Bureau of Land Management and the Pershing County Sheriff's Office to stay updated on the situation.

What’s better than the New Year’s Eve ball drop? A New Year’s Eve bass drop.

Excision is throwing another huge, two-day New Year’s Eve event to ring in 2024.

After rocking Buffalo, New York for last year’s festivities, the dubstep king is taking the party west to Lake Tahoe, Nevada’s brand-new 5,000-capacity Tahoe Blue Event Center on December 30 and 31, 2023.

Excision has long been regarded as the face of the North American dubstep scene thanks to a relentless global touring schedule and a catalog that includes five full-length albums and a never-ending supply of nasty edits and collabs.

His curated shows are a headbanger’s paradise, carrying a massive reputation for pairing the hardest bass in the world with top-tier sound, production, visuals, and, of course, lasers.

Excision Presents New Year’s 2024 is the latest in a long line of multi-day Excision events, including Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Paradise Blue, and Thunderdome.

The lineup for this year’s bash has yet to be announced, but last year’s historic NYE show booked heavy hitters like Kill The Noise, Dirt Monkey, Dion Timmer, Riot Ten B2B PhaseOne, and more – all on top of two sets from X.

Tickets for Excision Presents New Year’s 2024 will be available at Excision’s official website.

Pre-sale will begin tomorrow, Thursday, August 10 at 10AM PT with code NYE2024. General on-sale begins Friday, August 11 at 10AM PT.
