Skål is an international organization that brings together all branches of the travel and tourism industry at the executive level.

The first Club was founded in Paris in 1932 by travel trade managers who had been on an educational tour of Scandinavia and the idea of international friendship gained such popularity that in 1934, Skål achieved international status with the formation of the Association Internationale des Skål Clubs (A.I.S.C.), on the initiative of the first President of the Paris Skål Club and the man considered the "Father of Skål", Florimond Volckaert. From that modest beginning, Skål now has more than 25,000 members in over 500 Clubs, spread throughout 80 countries. As in other associations of professionals (such as Rotary, Oddfellows and Lions), most Skål activities take place within the Clubs, but the movement also features National and Area Committees coming under the umbrella of the A.I.S.C. (Skål International), which has its own Secretariat in Torremolinos, Spain. Skål is managed by an Executive Committee of nine members, elected by Club delegates to the General Assembly, which is held in conjunction with the World Congress. This five-day Congress is hosted by a different country each year, thus offering members and their companions the opportunity of observing, first and, the travel and tourism industry potential of other countries.

We had a FANTASTIC time at our meeting last night at Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach Food was delicious, drinks were tasty and service was impeccable. THANK YOU!! This was our 1st Member Appreciation Night and we were able to showcase many of our members, play a great trivia game and everyone received a bottle of wine. Through torrential rains, thunder, lightning and massive traffic jams, our members showed up and showed out!! What a terrific gathering. Huge thank you to ZooTampa at Lowry Park for their wonderful hospitality, delicious food and drink and overall great time. Thank you Cameron, Audrey and Josh (our bartender) Also, great to see Pam Robertson from the Orlando Club and all of our other guests. What a FANTASTIC time we had last night at OCC Road House. Our members got to dress up in their favorite country or biker outfit and pose with a vintage hog (Motorcycle) Thanks for the great food, service and libations. Some even joined in on Karaoke.
