Going-to-the-Sun Road Open!

Services at Logan Pass include restroom facilities, but potable water is currently not yet available. Visitors should plan to bring their own drinking water.

Visitor information services will be provided at the Logan Pass Visitor Center from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

With Going-to-the-Sun Road fully open, the number of vehicle reservations available will be increased. For the remainder of the season, this increase will be executed through the next-day reservations available at 7 p.m. MDT each day. Vehicle reservations are exclusively available on Recreation.gov and not available at the park.

From 6am - 3pm, now through September 8th, vehicle reservations are required to enter Going-to-the-Sun Road from the west side of the park past Apgar and the North Fork. Starting July 1st, vehicle reservations will be required for Many Glacier.

Vehicle reservations are NOT required to enter Going-to-the-Sun Road from the east side of the park at the St. Mary Entrance.

Visitors with lodging, camping, or commercial activity reservations (e.g., boat tours and horseback rides) do not need a vehicle reservation and can use their confirmation email to access the portion of the park for which their activity is booked. Service reservations originating east of Logan Pass cannot be used instead of a vehicle reservation for access past the Apgar Check Point heading east on Going-to-the-Sun Road.

The park is open 24/7 and visitors may enter the park before 6 a.m. or after 3 p.m. without a vehicle reservation.

Heads up to those visiting Glacier and the surrounding area: fire danger is now at extreme. Conditions are incredibly dry, and fires that start are spreading fast.

As of today, the park is in Stage 2 fire restrictions. Key items for park visitors to note are:
- No campfires or charcoal fires
- No smoking outside, unless in an area 3’ in diameter that’s clear of all flammable materials

(Note that devices, like most camp stoves, that are fueled solely by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels, and can be turned on and off, ARE allowed in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials with 3 feet of the device.)

Thank you for your efforts to prevent fire starts!

See https://www.mtfireinfo.org/pages/restrictions for more detailed information, but expect restrictions across Northwest Montana.
