Just received some lovely feedback from clients returning from Italy:

We had a fantastic time and it had a lot to do with you. You were great to work with and your tour guides are amazing. We absolutely loved our Luca and sienna tour guides. As for the day where we were in Rome we did a ton we started at the Vatican and then, the Colosseum and the forum +2 hills.

My only recommendation for that day is for the Guide not to rush us as much as we were - Granted we were doing a lot, but we do like to take pictures and be tourists at times other than that I really have not one complaint.

I gave you a great review as you well deserved it.
Take care,
Jackie H

Just received a nice email from clients taking a day program from Cherbourg to the Normandy D Day Sites. It is always lovely to have feedback - and especially with such as this!

We have returned from our trip and wanted to share feedback from our Normandy tour. It was an amazing day. They provided a customized tour that we all greatly enjoyed. We can not say enough about our tour guide, Raphaelle. She was professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic!

Thank you for your assistance and we will definitely be in touch the next time we need a tour/excursion.

Best Regards,
A. C.

Another happy client on a private tour in Bangkok!

Our Guide was wonderful, great English, very knowledgeable and adjusted the end of the tour upon request, on the spot. So accommodating! He even helped with our luggage, taking us all the way to the ticket counter. Exceptional Experience in Bangkok.

10 out of 10 to MyExcursions on all counts!

U.S. State Department Issues New Cancun Travel Advisory

Local taxi drivers throughout Cancun have blocked main roads and access to the airport. This strong reaction to a recent court ruling that officially made Uber legal has taxi drivers taking desperate measures. Due to violence in the past and active threats against Uber drivers and passengers, the U.S. State Department has issued a warning for travelers in Cancun.

Violent Attacks and Threats Continue

The state department said, “past disputes between these services and local taxi unions have occasionally turned violent, resulting in injuries to U.S. citizens in some instances.”

There were reports that a select few tourists who were unaware of the circumstances regarding taxi drivers and Uber drivers were victims of various attacks, like the family of tourists in the TikTok below. Altercations have even taken place in what’s commonly known as “The Hotel Zone,” generally an area deemed safe for tourists. Not only has this area been affected, but getting to/from the airport has become less certain as taxi drivers could block main roads and key access points.

BARCELONA LIMITS TOUR GROUP SIZES TO 30

Taking new steps to combat overtourism and reduce noise pollution, Barcelona has capped the size of tour groups and banned the use of megaphones on tours.

The new rules come as travel demand and tourism numbers continue to surge after two-plus years of Covid restrictions.

Tour groups are no longer allowed to exceed 30 people on tours conducted in Barcelona's city center, known as District One, where tourist density levels are the highest. Neighborhoods in that district include the Gothic Quarter; Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i La Ribera; and La Barceloneta.

Tours groups in smaller areas will be limited to 15 people.

Review just in:

We used My Excursions for a 10 day anniversary trip to London. Tim went above and beyond in helping us to plan the itinerary, including day trips outside of London, and secured guides and drivers for private transports and tours. We had no problems whatsoever with any of the activities, and we were extremely pleased with our drivers and guides.

Additionally, Tim continued to be responsive while we were in London if we had any questions. We highly recommend My Excursions and we will definitely use their service for our next trip abroad!

Friday, March 18, the CDC made a couple of very positive changes in its COVID-19 program that has been in effect since February. The changes affect those ships in a Highly Vaccinated or Vaccination Standard of Excellence classification.

Here are a couple of the highlights:

Cruise lines can now return to offering “passenger interactive experiences” that were previously under suspension. This means things such as galley tours and cooking classes, mixology contests and other “behind the scenes” events are free to resume.

There are no longer any ship and capacity limits at ports. Also, the requirements for physical distancing during shore excursions were changed to a recommendation.

Finally, if someone is found to be in close contact with a COVID-19 positive guest or crew member, and they are identified within 36 hours prior to disembarkation they can quarantine in their own cabin (provided they are the only person in the cabin). Previously, guests were all moved to isolation cabins.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) had the following this to say:

“The updates announced today acknowledge the effectiveness of the cruise lines in their ability to create an environment that provides one of the highest levels of COVID-19 mitigation and reflect the improvements in the public health landscape.”

Earlier this week, the CDC lowered the health warning for cruise ships to a Level 2 Moderate.

Cruise lines are scrapping Russian and Ukrainian ports from their itineraries after Russian troops launched an attack on Ukraine.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ announcement came hours after small-ship specialist Atlas Ocean Voyages became the first cruise line to cancel calls at Russian ports, removing St. Petersburg from two Baltic sailings scheduled for the summer.

Three cruise lines owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings – Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises – announced Thursday that they would adjust their itineraries and remove calls to Russian ports in 2022.

"The safety and security of our guests, crew and communities we visit is our top priority," reads an emailed statement from Norwegian Cruise Line. "We are currently working to confirm replacement ports and will advise all impacted guests and travel advisors as soon as possible."

NCL CEO noted Thursday morning that the company had no vessels scheduled to enter the region until late May.

In addition, river and ocean cruise operator Viking late Thursday canceled its entire summer season of “Kiev, Black Sea & Bucharest” sailings that include travel across the Black Sea and up Ukraine’s Dnieper River. British line Saga Cruises on Thursday removed a call at Odessa, Ukraine, from a Black Sea cruise scheduled to take place in May.

Viking also said it was evaluating itineraries that call in Russia in 2022, which it said would “require modifications.” The line operates Baltic sailings that call at St. Petersburg as well as river cruises on Russia’s Volga and Svir rivers between St. Petersburg and Moscow.

“The health, safety and security of our guests, crew and communities we visit is our top priority,” the three Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brands said in letters sent to travel agents Thursday announcing the cancellations. “Due to the escalated situation between Russia and Ukraine we have made the decision to alter itineraries.”

Statements from the other lines canceling calls in Russia and Ukraine also cited safety concerns.

A post from Iceland...

ICELAND - Free from all Travel Restrictions

We are thrilled to announce that the Icelandic government has lifted all Covid-19 restrictions in Iceland, both domestically and on the border.

From midnight, February 24th, our international guests can finally travel to Iceland again without thinking about any travel restrictions.

The decision was made unanimously by government members and in accordance with the suggestions of the chief epidemiologist.

Iceland is fully open and we have never been more ready!
