ETIAS - European Travel Information & Authorization System
We are writing to let you know about a change coming for travel to Europe in 2024. US Citizens will be required to obtain a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) prior to travel to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Travelers can apply for the ETIAS by accessing the official ETIAS website or mobile application.
The cost will be €7 (equivalent to USD 7.73, as of May 2023) for all applicants between the ages of 18 and 70. Minors and applicants over 70 years old will receive an ETIAS free of charge. This fee is charged when you submit your application and it’s the only fee you have to pay.
Further information can be found by clicking the below link.
Whether you are booked for a trip to Europe in 2024 or later or not, we wanted to share this important information with you now since there has been no such requirement in the past and this can be taken into account when planning your future travel.
