Today I’m feeling a bit tired and have not even had a shower yet! But tomorrow I have a Downton Abbey tour, so I’ll be stylish and gorgeous. A total transformation, like this video I made back during the pandemic. 😷

Easter weekend and I think I found the biggest chocolate egg 🥚 in London! It’s at and it looks delicious. This is one of the nicer places to come for afternoon tea. I highly recommend you check it out. The doorman Orlando and I have a plan to share the egg, but I doubt that will happen. Lol 😜 🐣
Consider going to a concert while in London! We have amazing venues like The O2, Hammersmith Apollo, and the famous Wembley Stadium. Last night’s performance of Howard Jones and OMD was fire! 🔥 (I might be singing and dancing to “If you leave” in this photo.)

Not one, but two school groups today doing shrinkies and learning about Westminster Abbey. First the shrinkies workshop to learn about stain glass. Next, a tour to see some of the Abbey highlights. Finally, time to collect the shrinkies. And then back to school.
Fun Saturday!!!! I treated myself to the exhibition While there were many films and items of memorabilia to see, I was really only there for MARY POPPINS! If you have seen the Disney Channel’s show “Prop Culture”, you would have seen the famous carousel horse 🎠that Dick van D**e rode. I wanted to see it in person.
They also had an original script, invitation and tickets to the film premiere, and an inscribed copy of a later book from PL Travers to Walt Disney. I spent a long time looking at the original Peter Ellenshaw painting.
Truly a treat for me!
The Coldstream Guards 💂🏽 doing their thing. We have two more weeks of grey coats…. Then our clocks ⏰ change and they will go back to red tunics! ♥️
Coming to London in March? Here are a few tips for how to dress for the weather!
🧣 a scarf is still your best friend. Bring one and wear it to keep the neck warm and the heat in
🧤 the wind gets pretty cold and you want to keep those hands warm. Pockets never seem to do the trick in cold wind
🧥 a coat/jacket is necessary but if you layer, you can get away with a non-wool/winter heavy coat
👕 wear thin layers so you can peel. Also so you don’t feel like a marshmallow
Today it is sunny, high is 12° and luckily dry. But always bring a brolly ☂️ just in case!

Once again, the February sunshine is making all the buildings look spectacular!! Today in Oxford, I was blown away by their beauty….. and the clients enjoyed it too! Oxford really is a great day out of London. Simply hop on a train (or take the bus) and you are here in just over an hour. Pop into museums, check out the colleges, so some shopping in the Covered Market…. Which is celebrating 250years this year.
Giving a tour in Windsor and got a tap on my arm. Turned around and saw Frank the Solider!!! I was absolutely delighted to see him. We normally meet on The Mall, so it was special to see him. He was on a break, having a sausage roll, just finished Changing of the Guard 💂♀️. Such a little gentleman. His dad is such an amazing parent to support him with these trips.
Can’t stop thinking about the wives of King Henry VIII? Rewatching Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte? Well then, do not miss Hampton Court Palace on your trip to London!! Allow a good half day, take the 8:30am train, grab breakfast on the go…. Explore the amazing rooms of this royal palace. From the chapel to the gardens…. You’ll love it.
Here’s this dragon again! Always chasing me! I’m at the Harry Potter Studios, where my clients had a champagne evening. Sadly the driver and I didn’t get to participate, but it was fun to quickly pop in to see the dragon again. “Sorry dude! You didn’t catch me this time!” lol
30+ students from Chile 🇨🇱 enjoying a Sunday with me for Changing of the Guard. 💂♀️ made sure to get the top photo stops so they can whatsapp to mom & Dad. We tried to see how many can get into a phone booth ☎️ but sadly only 5.

It’s February!!! Everyone always asked when is the best time to visit London. I tend to say September. However, February can also have its perks. It’s still cold (sometimes ridiculously cold) but the sun is sharp and bright. London looks stunning in the winter sun. I’m always happy to walk around and look at the buildings soaking in the rays. ☀️
My January Paris tour is complete. I love working with these teachers. They are great fun, it felt like a reunion. And my driver Mo is the best!!! When you love your colleagues, how can it feel like work? (Well, when the students are late and you are shouting “Chile!! Brazil!! Let’s go!!.) 😜
51 students from Brazil 🇧🇷 and Chile 🇨🇱 who are used to much warmer climate… braved the freezing 🥶 cold weather and enjoyed Day 1 of Paris! We did Eiffel Tower in the day, a walk to Arc D’Triomphe, shopping and food in Champs-Élysées, and then back to Eiffel Tower for 8pm SPARKLES!!! ✨ Now… sleep. We have a big day tomorrow!
and I are guard buddies! I love it when I spot him (and his Dad) at the Changing of the Guard. Sometimes he is on The Mall with us, sometimes he has been asked behind the scenes or to march WITH the guards. He is a massive fan of the Coldstream regiment. Chances are… he will be a guard when he grows up!

Meet Chef Stella! An extraordinary woman from Nigeria 🇳🇬 who is one of the instructors at This was the Christmas event, and it was a winner winner scotch bonnet dinner!!!! Naturally I’ll be going back to learn more styles of cooking. 🧑🍳 I left stuffed and full of love! Thank you Chef Stella.
This gentleman was on my Churchill tour today. Born in Australia 🇦🇺 he attended Sandhurst Military Academy and is currently working/stationed in Singapore. 🇸🇬 He was a massive Churchill fan and throughout the tour, would agree with me and interject a few facts and comments (just before I said them). He was very complimentary of me and my knowledge, saying kind things like “You know your Churchill!” When we got to Viscount Alanbrooke, I told who he was and a few stores about him and Churchill. Walking then from Alanbrooke’s statue to the War Rooms, my gentleman client nudged me and said “that is my great-grandfather”. And with tears in his eyes said “you did me proud!” It is little moments like this that I love!!! (He also laughed at all my jokes, which was sweet, too!)
Some days I get so excited about the Guards, I end up doing videos like this!!! Can’t win them all!

It’s cold at Highclere Castle! Today there was a special event and I brought a group of 8 to see it. With limited tickets, the place is empty. Felt like a time for a selfie in front of the castle. Had a full day yesterday and thought I’d bring you with me! Everyday is different when you are self-employed and make your own schedule. I love variety, so I mix it up when I can. After my recent two month Downton season, it’s kinda fun to have a change of pace like this. #amberisthebesttourguide
All good things must come to an end….. Highclere Castle closes for summer, so my Downton season ends. I’ll have the occasional Downton tour with Blenheim Palace. Highclere reopens in April 2024. Meanwhile, there’s always my London Downton walking tour! #amberisthebesttourguide

Success is getting 30 Brazilian students through Paris, then the Eurostar passport and security. Now just keeping them out of the way of others until we board. (One British lady was so offended that we arrived. Someone should tell her that she isn’t the only passenger today!)
