I'm sad to say that the Ireland and Scotland Combo Tour scheduled for summer 2025 has been postponed. Unfortunately, I've torn my rotator cuff in my shoulder and need surgery. The recovery period isn't short for this one and I need to take the time and heal properly. This way I can also give the tour the attention it deserves. I wish you all a happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.

Something new for the USA folks when you travel into the UK (including Northern Ireland). £10 isn't a lot of you travel alone but for a family it ads up. And yes you need it even if you're just passing through the airport (think JFK, Heathrow, Rome). It's good for 2 years. Opens up for applications for Americans in November, required starting 8 January 2025. I wouldn't wait til the last minute.

The UK Home Office has announced dates for the worldwide rollout of its Electronic Travel Authorisation scheme.

Ended this trip last evening with a stop at a favorite, having a favorite. Fish and chips with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Always where I eat when in Athlone. Good idea to make a booking as they are very popular.
